This was, without a doubt, the single worst steak — no, the worst meal — I have ever had. I placed a to-go order through the app, which estimated it would be ready by 9:50 PM. Hoping for a quick pickup, I arrived a bit early. After all, I was staying at the hotel next door, barely a two-minute walk away, and I had fond memories of the great meals I used to enjoy at Texas Roadhouse.
When I got to the pick-up window, I found several employees lounging around, laughing, and exchanging what looked like cash — perhaps settling up on owed tips. I stood there for a full minute, completely ignored, until I rang the small doorbell. At that point, they scattered like they had been caught doing something they shouldn't have. A woman, who I assume was a manager, finally opened the window. I told her I was there for a pickup, and she informed me the order wasn't ready yet. Fair enough — I had arrived early.
However, some scrawny bar-back-looking employee decided to chime in, uninvited, and told me (rather smugly) that my order was set for 9:50 and that I would receive a text when it was ready. I returned to my car and patiently waited. By 10:02 — well past the promised time — I still hadn’t received any notification. I went back to the window, where a different employee was now present. He was at least polite and quickly retrieved my order, but I could tell immediately that it had been sitting there for quite some time.
When I got back to my room, I was met with the coldest, grayest, most unappetizing piece of meat I have ever laid eyes on. It had no flavor, no texture — just a soggy, ugly mess. I tried a few bites but ultimately had to throw it away. I was disgusted.
This experience perfectly encapsulates why this restaurant chain is failing — and frankly, I’m glad it is. Unprofessional, apathetic employees and management who clearly couldn't care less about quality or customer service have ruined what was once a dependable place to eat.
Shame on the management for allowing this level of incompetence to become the norm. I will never spend another dime at Texas Roadhouse, and I suggest others think twice...
Read moreWe had a reservation for 6:30 for a group of 11. Waited over 45 mins to be seated. Another 20 mins to get 8 out of 11 drinks, the other 3 were brought an extra 15 mins later. We ordered 2 cheese fries, 1 fried pickles and 1 reg fry for my 4 year old. 20 mins later we got a plate of fries with no cheese with just bacon on top. 2nd set of cheese fries had chili on them???? Like what? Never got my 4 year olds reg plate of fries. THEN we put our order in. We order salmon, grilled chicken, country fried chicken, a few medium rare steaks with all different sides. We recieved Food, not our food (im pretty sure) about 45 mins later. They brought us literally 5 plates with different size steaks on them. No sides. Just steaks on a plate. We were told they were out of baked potatos which a lot of us ordered. We were told they were out of salmon. So why didnt they say that when we order 45 mins ago. Also the country fried chicken and 11 peoples sides were completly missing. We were told our waitress had a meltdown and never put the order in. We spoke to 2 different Managers they attempted to put our order again and although our order was 80% done correctly the 2nd time. All of the steaks we ordered were not done to the doneness we had requested. People who wanted medium rare got an overly cooked dry hard cold piece of meat. Do not order the grilled chicken its cold hard dry beef jerky. Country fried chicken was okay but super salty. The salmon that we were told they sold out of suddenly just appeared. It was warm but overly salty. Everything was just wrong. We complained to pretty much everyone that worked there I think. I 100% will not be coming back. I will go back to the Texas Roadhouse off of 820 South Fort Worth. They are sooooo much better. Also this dinner was my nephews 14th Birthday Celebration. So that made it even worse. A night none of us will forget because it was so bad it...
Read moreIt was me and my teenage daughter. We picked our steaks out of the case and had our steaks and water (no sides). We informed our waiter, Robbie, that my daughter has an allergy to oils and seasonings and told him that we needed to ensure that her steak was cooked on a cleaned grill with no oils or seasonings. His response was "I'll see what I can do". We have been to this location before and always dealt with Delilah one of the managers who made sure our steaks were prepared properly, so we know it can be done. Unfortunately, Delilah no longer works there and apparently their concern for customers dietary restrictions went with her. My daughter ate a portion of her steak, it was an 18oz. ribeye, but was unable to eat most of it because it was mostly tendon and the parts that were actually edible had an oily texture to them as though they had been cooked using oil. By the time we left my daughter was itching due to her reaction to whatever was used on her steak. When Robbie came back to check on us he noticed that my daughter had put all of the tendons on her dinner roll plate (it was a full plate), when he asked what that was we told him it was all the tendons from my daughter's steak, so he asked if we wanted a to-go box for them. I looked at him and said no, she can't even chew that. He obviously was not listening to us. My daughter is lucky, she will have a night of discomfort, itching, bloating, and stomach pain from her steak not being prepared properly as requested, but Robbie and Texas Roadhouse should be careful they don't disregard the next person with food allergies or they may just end up killing someone. The only reason we went here tonight was because Delilah made sure my daughter was properly taken care of. I was nervous tonight when we asked for her and they said she was no longer there but we decided to give them a chance and they failed. We will...
