We decided to try this restaurant based on the great reviews and because we were curious how hot the chicken is. We stopped in around 7:30 on a Saturday night and ordered the tenders and 1/2 rack of ribs (Texas hot) with Texas Caviar and the Sleezy Chicken. The restaurant was moderately busy, took our order immediately, and had our food ready in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful throughout our entire visit. The ribs were perfectly cooked, fall-off-the-bone tender, and well-seasoned—on par with what I could order at a BBQ restaurant. The Texas Hot spice level was perfectly hot for my taste, and as someone who enjoys pretty spicy food (e.g., with habanero, ghost pepper, Carolina Reaper) I decided not to opt for the AMF after speaking with our order taker about the heat level. The chicken tenders were perfectly done, well-seasoned, and nice and fresh. The Texas Caviar had a blend of corn, peppers, onions and black beans and I found it to be good. I had high hopes for the Sleezy Chicken but found that the dish was overwhelmed by the cole slaw and I was disappointed that the Mac n Cheese flavor didn’t come through. The ribs were the star of the meal. We had a great experience overall. I only gave 4 stars because the Sleezy Chicken wasn’t to the level of the rest of our experience. I look forward to trying the Chicken And Waffles on a...

Nothing we had was bad... But nothing was great either. I would say it was overall slightly above mid. You won't have a terrible meal here but I wouldn't expect (as another reviewer put it) "the best ribs you've ever had"...unless you've only had ribs at like Chilis or something.

I had the 1/4 rack ribs, Mac & cheese and a house salad. My bf had the chicken tacos and fries. The ribs came pre-sauced, which personally is never a good sign. Good ribs should have a great flavor and texture without slathering it with sauce after the grill/smoker. Sauce should be optional. In this case, it was not. Several bites were very dry. I think it was due to the ribs being rather lean. Overall, they weren't bad, just very average, which was disappointing since their main 2 proteins are ribs and chicken tenders so I would expect the ribs to be at least above average.

Honestly, what I liked best about my meal was the house salad because it was crisp, fresh, simple, and they had the good ranch (if you know, you know).

We were hungry after an event at Dickies arena so we headed here for dinner before heading back towards Dallas and we were satisfied with the meal but I think we'll try some of the other local eateries in the area before we give this one another shot.

That being said, the chicken tenders did look fantastic so I would definitely give them a try if we ever make...

My husband enjoys The Cookshack for their spicy fried chicken and I enjoy their sides. The Cookshack offers Chicken Tenders, Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken and Waffles, Ribs, Salads, Sides, Sauces and Desserts… you just choose your heat level. They offer a few Vegetarian friendly sides like French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, Cole Slaw, Apple Slices, Dragon Fries, Mac n Cheese, Kale salad and House Salad. They offer three specialty Salads with Chicken for meat eaters and they also offer specials on meat and side packages, so check the chalk board when you enter.

Our order: My husband ordered the Chicken Tenders with spicy sauce, French Fries and Cole Slaw. Although I didn’t order, I did try the Cole Slaw and wasn’t impressed. It was warm, bitter and had too much black pepper for my taste. I prefer a cold and sweeter Cole Slaw. My husband loves the Chicken Tenders, but said the French Fries aren’t the best.

This place is ALWAYS packed, so plan to circle the parking lot if you come during peak hours. There’s a bar in the center, lots of booths and tables and large screen TV’s with local sports. While they don’t have a full bar, they do offer Beer, Wine, Margaritas, Lemonade, Teas, Soft Drinks and Topo Chicos. Fun atmosphere and...

Our experience at this location was okay. The food was made perfect. We had the Buffalo chicken sandwich, dragon fries, grilled chicken sandwich (Texas hot) with regular fries. The Buffalo sandwich would have used more Buffalo, I didn't think it was as spicy as I wanted. Maybe also add ranch. The sandwich felt simple & somewhat dry. The dragon fries are awesome. They're spicy! The grilled chicken sandwich with texas hot is spicy!!! But delicious! Prices are reasonably affordable. The thing that made our experience not so good (we wouldn't eat at the restaurant again), is the service we got. It seemed like the employee taking our order did not get along with the manager. She told us she was upset with her manager so that was the reason for the rolling eyes, huffing & puffin. She seemed not happy. Then the manager seemed not happy. He delivered the food to our table & when I asked about the margarita I ordered, he said he wasn't told about the margarita but would get it out right away. So there was no bartender making the drink, I assume the manager made it because it was basically a ready made margarita with mango puree. I wouldnt recommend the cocktails. Stick to the soda machine or beer.
