Well I’ll admit I had a bad experience at first but it was due to miscommunication,I thought they closed a little later. I left a review about what happened within 30 minutes I had a missed call Two emails from manager and general mgr,to see how they could fix the situation, again please let me put emphasis on it was a misunderstanding on the time i thought they closed. Buttttt!!! After I spoke to Nate he asked me to come in anytime to have a great terry black’s experience. I went two days later met Nate And he showed me around and well First off went to the sides area line first and was greeted by 2 very nice young ladies I got the green beans, potato salad(omg never had potato salad like this, very good) Which the girl recommended, come on gotta have a potato salad with brisket, lol. The macaroni was very tasty not dried out like a lotta places,& I tried the peach cobbler and it was soooooooooooo goood!!!! Then I went to the meat counter where I tried the lean&the moist brisket, the beef ribs and Nate threw in the sausage which was excellent as well. This is truly a wonderful place to eat and Nate,as well as the employees were very nice. But Nate truly wowed me,but again the food is excellent. Im kinda upset because I’m prediabetic But that cobbler is so good u almost says who cares, lol. The rest of the food is just as fantastic. To call it good is an understatement and almost insulting. They know what they’re are doing. Nate even gave me a hat and I will gladly wear it to advertise,so if anyone does ask me Is it good bbq,I’ll say no it’s great and I don’t usually promote someone’s Food like that as far as wearing a hat but the hat is stylish, fits my wardrobe lol I’ll just say I’m wearing the hat for a reason lol I definitely want this business to thrive here and I’ll do what I can to help But again thank you so much Nate and to all the people there. Me and my mom say 10 stars!!!! Also I’ll be honest i usually don’t leave to many reviews, but this is truly worth it. I took my food to go as I have to take care of my mom at the moment but the atmosphere inside and patio looked cool too And definitely a place to take a date or someone who wants real TEXAS!!!!! Brisket. Again thank you Nate soooo very much God bless and thanks for the wonderful food and experience. PLEASE TRY THIS RESTAURANT,YOU WONT REGRET IT. You’ll become a regular,I know they got my business now. Ohhhh sorry the portions are very good as well, sorry forgot to say that lol I will say dangit Nate just seen yall had cornbread I didn’t notice it Gotta try...
Read moreFirst time at Terry Black's since moving to Texas 5 years ago. I've been to many BBQ places since moving here and while I've had some decent meals I really haven't had my socks knocked off until this trip to Terry Black's in Fort Worth. I figured I was in for a treat walking into the restaurant past the rows of massive smokers on the way into the restaurant. We went early, before 5 PM to beat the crowd and make sure we'd arrive before they sold out of items. I've been craving a Dino beef rib and have so far been disappointed at other BBQ places. Knowing that it's a signature item at Terry Black's I was optimistic and turns out that the hype was justified. We ordered a big beef rib, jalapeno cheddar sausage, and the smoked turkey. Watching them dish up other folks orders had me tempted to add items but I maintained my control. For sides we had the pinto beans and coleslaw. First, the food. The beef rib was so juicy and tender I couldn't have asked for anything better. Perfect bark, fat rendered beautifully, and seasoned to perfection. Didn't need any sauce but they offer 3 at the table, original, spicy, and sweet. They were all great. The jalapeno cheddar sausage had great flavor, nothing to complain about there either. Could have been a little more spicy but that's splitting hairs. The turkey was so good. Perfect texture, moist and tasty, and great flavor as well. I wouldn't normally order poultry at a BBQ place but this was the exception. I bet the turkey sandwich would be awesome. The sides were equally good with the pinto beans loaded with chunks of meat and well seasoned. The coleslaw was exactly how I like it, not to sweet and not swimming in sugary slop. Lots of fresh cabbage, shredded carrots, and chopped parsley hit just right. The place is huge with tables inside and out, and many people cutting and serving your BBQ up. I was able to see the beef ribs and tell my guy which piece I wanted so you can bet I got a real gem. It's not cheap, but the quality is definitely there. I don't mind paying as long as it's top notch, and Terry Black's definitely is that. Well deserved that they are consistently ranked as one of the best in Texas. Will...
Read moreI've had BBQ before, wasn't a fan and I would honestly avoid it like the plague. I was here on Valentine's Day at noon and it was still busy, not as crazy busy as last weekend when we didn't get lucky making it since we had no luck with parking. There are no reservations or a waitlist on Yelp. It's on a first come first serve basis. For starters, you must order and have your food before you sit at a table. I highly recommend you look at the menu beforehand so you're ready.
Once in line, you order your sides, for example, mac-n-cheese, potato salad, etc, and then you move on to choosing your meat (ribs, brisket, sausage, etc), you pay, and off you go to find a table to sit and eat.
The ribs were so flavorful and such delicious goodness. I didn't even have to add extra sauce, it spoke volumes of how amazing the ribs were, that they were solid and didn't need seasonings or sauces. To me, it was perfect just the way it was. Its glaze was the bomb and the way the meat came off the bone was great. 10/5
The brisket pieces I had consisted of a lot of fat, so I wasn't a huge fan just based on the pieces I got. However, the few bits that were not fat with their sauces were pretty good. 4/5
The sausage was cooked just the way I like it and was savory on its own. No need to add anything. 5/5
The mac-n-cheese was good, definitely better than so many others I've had. 4.5/5
The potato salad was seasoned well and tasted good. 4.5/5
Their customer service was great, we had staff check up on us periodically while we were eating.
The cozy homey ambiance, filled with lively chatter, further enhances the sense of hospitality and community within the restaurant.
I am stoked we found this spot. It was a lovely Valentine's Day lunch.
I will be coming back and bringing my peeps. Highly highly...
