I will say 7th Street area is a grand place to go and enjoy great and even some unique shopping and entertainment/nightlife. The only downside is the parking and garages. If you don't park in one of the garages, you are placed into the ever downward spiral of hunting for spaces around where you will be going, giving in quickly and just accept the long walk, or throwing the bird and scaring the crap out of children and elders in the vicinity as you tear out of the area in some state of insanity that has yet to be understood. Now, one plus to parking in the garages is that some of the businesses validate the parking tickets. Only problem I have found the last two times I have parked there is that apparently even with validation, they still try to tell you "gimme $20" along with some sort of "it's only good for such and such amount of time." I can't really recall exactly what was said as I was already flared, frustrated, and frantic trying understand the bs and where the heck my money is because I want to just go the heck home. I really like going to the area with all there is to offer but I'm getting tired of businesses finding every way possible to drain a customers pockets. If it were $5 to park for an afternoon/evening of shopping and/or entertainment, I'd be in like Flynn and probably not care (and willing to give 5 stars). At $20, I'm thinking my business is being...
Read moreWest 7th as a whole completely SUCKS! The businesses who do not participate in the parking fiasco have absolutely zero sensitivity to the needs of their customers.
The parking situation is horrendous! Be prepared to be towed or to pay for parking, bottom line! I used to love coming to the area.
Now I find alternate areas of town where businesses have much more friendly attitudes toward parking and wanting me to enjoy doing business with them.
There is plenty of parking in the garages, but the parking company will town you if you do not I'm mediately walk into one of the businesses that have parking validation.
They are like Nazis! They actually watch and follow you to your destination. Instead of letting you know that particular business you walked into doesn't validate, they simply walk back as if they caught you and tow you without any warning.
When you return to find your car gone, only then do they inform you of the Nazis regime in charge of parking and that you should have known what the rules we're.
This is actually the worst shopping and dining experience in the MetroPlex. It's no wonder good restaurants and businesses are moving out of the area.
Good luck and be sure you completely understand which businesses validate and which ones don't. Do not, under any circumstances, dare to do stop into any other business on your way to or from your car or you will...
Read moreHidden jewel in the "new" downtown FW!! An awesome & unique restaurant, bar, & entertainment district that is original and fresh...ranging from sports bars that are impossible to miss with their mini AstroTurf football patio/outdoor area, to larger bars/clubs offering live music several nights a week, a Tiki Bar for that beach vacation vibe, and places like Landmark, which offers such an amazing, fully stocked bar and large heated/ covered patio area, complete with a bucking-bull ride, life size Jenga & Connect Four games, Pool Tables, a full menu (w food to die for), great staff & service, snd so much more, that you have no need to even go inside! As a lifetime FW resident, it's almost hard to believe that I'm still in FW when in this district, as it has a much different appeal than Sundance Square, the Stockyards, TCU area Westside, or any other FW district. It's a great atmosphere, with a very appealing aesthetic & vibe that carries energy more akin to Austin's 6th Street area. I do believe I've found a new bar & restaurant scene that I will visit often, as it is a refreshingly new & different experience right here in my the...
