Read moreI had a horrible experience here after rock hounding in McDowell mountain. I am from Scottsdale and we were hungry and looked this place up in fountain hills. They had the wrong picture up for their burger online. It was the first one that came up ..it said fit burger and showed fries and bun etc . A basic burger. And I was like...ok let's get that. The price was 15 bucks. Alittle on the high end for a burger but whatever..
We got food to go. There was just a salad ..ice berg lettuce some asparagus and naked patties. We got charged like 48 bucks for that .I was livid. And figured they made a mistake...
So I did something I rarely do and I went back. And asked if they forgot a bag. And explanained that we didn't get what was on menu picture. And they said that happens and admitted it was wrong but somehow we should of known better. That is clear false advertising and ridiculous over pricing. I gave them a chance to apologize or fix it before explaining to everyone around. That is horrible..ridiculous atrocious customer service .
It was apparently phils son I charge and I hope Phil doesn't run the place the same way because from other reviews it seemed decent. And I just wanted basic diner food and ended up getting one of the worst food experiences in a while. I only really complain when it is beyond.
I had some metal string in my food and then a pizza someone threw away that made me late for work because I had to wait for new food. Those are the three times I complained. So this makes my list. Iol
Hopefully they treat people who live in town better. Because I don't understand how a place can remain in business with treating people like this...
Read morePhil's is a great place to "chow down" in a casual atmosphere. They have an extensive menu so you will definitely find something to "fill" you up at the Filling Station.
I have a suggestion for something you won't find on the menu. Go to Phil's on any Thursday night some time after 6 p.m. Upon entering, turn right and walk straight ahead to a room that is separate from the rest of the eating area. I am not exactly sure what I walked in on but I found a very lively group of mostly senior citizens who were being entertained by an older gentleman dressed as a cowboy with a guitar. He sang and played with recorded background music and a woman who was with him provided female vocals on songs that required a female singer. They sang mostly country and western music. My guess is that the music ranged from the 1920's to the 1970's. They had music for thousands of songs and they took requests also.
My impression of the group enjoying the music was that most of them knew each other and were from one of the residential communities in Fountain Hills. Most of the group sang along and a few of them even got up and danced to the music. They were a very friendly group and a few came to my table to greet me and invite me to come back any Thursday night. For me, this was a beautiful, serendipity experience that I had stumbled upon plus I had a great meal while I enjoyed the music in a party-like atmosphere. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, get a meal at Phil's any Thursday night.
I have never uploaded video before to Google maps but I am going to try adding a short video clip of the singing and dancing to my review of Phil's...
