They served me clearly rotten, stinky and fishy smelling seafood here. This protein is something I’ve ordered many times and never had an issue with before. I smelled it immediately but took a small bite hoping I was wrong. It tasted fishy and chlorinated so I immediately spit it out and threw the rest away. There went my meal and all the money I spent. I’m immunocompromised so that was highly unethical. Shame on the cook (the smell was so overpowering I doubt they didn’t know it was spoiled) and management or whoever does inventory. Fresh seafood has little to no smell.
Also the night shift likely after their dinner rush seems to just stop trying and the food tastes bad. I thought it was just me but then my easygoing friend started complaining. The last time all we tasted was salt and alot of it too. It’s not like we’re coming right before closing but many, many times it’s as if the staff checks out and puts ingredients away despite not closing for about another 2 hours.
Last year Urban Plates started eliminating items especially from their vegan or vegetarian section and what they offer now is not only limited but gross. I once ordered steak that was disgustingly tough, chewy and smelled bad. The new sides aren’t as good as before and this location in particular barely seasons their sides in addition to under- or overcooking them. Some of the proteins like roasted chicken and ribs are good but I wouldn’t pay for any of the sides let alone 90% of the menu.
To me this place isn’t a good value anymore (also last year they significantly raised prices) and even if prices were lower I’d likely pass. Like this last visit I’d only go if the person I’m with wants to go but there’s so much better...
Read moreA fantastic new edition to FV. I had the salmon with potatoes 🥔 🥔🥔 and Caesar side salad. My lunch was delicious and healthy. My salmon was cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. I would order the same thing again except that I saw a humongous gorgeous salad pass by me so I’m dying to try that next!
My friend and I sat outside where they have a nice patio and heat lamps. Had the day not been beautiful I’d have enjoyed sitting inside too. I’m now a NYC food and restaurant ambiance snob and this is one of the few restaurants in FV and HB that I find attractive inside. While we paid and tipped when we ordered at the cashier, Tyler brought us our food and kindly checked on us three times, an unexpected positive surprise - usually when you prepay at a restaurant nobody checks on you.
My friend and I split a granola and chocolate chip cookie. 🍪 I did not expect them to taste as amazing as they did because they came wrapped. But now that I know, I appreciate the wrap keeps them fresh and allows you a way to take half home as the cookies are huge (in a good but guilty way). I don’t usually like granola but they were so yummy that I’d consider stopping in simply for a cookie fix. The cookies would make nice...
Read moreI’ve been to this place on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley a couple of times, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots to eat. This place is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely meal. Recently, I tried the Seared Wild Ahi Tuna Sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, making it a standout dish.
The ambiance here is inviting and comfortable, making it a great place to dine with family and friends. The decor is modern yet cozy, and the seating arrangements are spacious. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a dinner gathering, the atmosphere is always pleasant.
Customer service is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with any questions or special requests. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.
One of the best decisions I’ve made is opting into the Plate Pass membership. It offers a 20% discount on all meals, which is a fantastic deal if you dine here frequently. The membership has already paid for itself, and I highly recommend it to anyone who plans to visit often.
Definitely come...
