DONT LEAVE FOOD UNWATCHED. I have had many experiences at this diner. Good and bad. Many of the Bad reviews left here, I have also experienced but are tolerable(consistently bad but tolerable). I can wait for my ticket for 30 minutes, that's fine. The food can be basic, it's a diner, that's fine. However the way I was served today was absolutely horrible and flat out gross. SHARON served myself and my 7yr old today between 1 and 2pm on 9/21/25. She was fairly friendly but unusual.
When arriving and being seated we both got up to wash our hands. Upon return we ordered our food and waited. Our food arrived some time after. We had a few bites, maybe even just 2. My anxious 7yr old had to use the bathroom again. Upon getting up SHARON made direct eye contact with me getting up to take my child to the bathroom. When coming back to the table EVERYTHING was in disarray. Our table had been bussed and then PUT BACK DOWN. My child's food was on my plate and all her fries were gone, some across my plate and the table. Yes that's right, someone touched our food and then PUT IT BACK & LEFT IT all over hoping we wouldn't notice the huge mess 😆 Silverware was in my ice water and I had my coffee creams TRASH on my plate. It was evident someone accosted our food.
In an abundance of caution and DISGUST I told my kid not to touch anything. With my apparent look of dismay my waitress SHARON, asked if we were doing okay while it was clear our table was in shambles, and was just as quickly ready to walk away like all wasn't a problem. I said well our table was bussed when we were away for 5 minutes in the bathroom. Mind you all the Silverware are still in the cup of ice water when she asks, do you need us to remake anything? Of course I do lol there's trash on my sandwich SHARON and half my kids meal is gone. 🥪 she brings back a boat of fries and then my sandwich WAY later about the time my child is done. At this point I just am grossed out and want to leave.
Mind all this, I was never offered a new drink, an apology, and i ate a slopy made sandwich infront of, yes the cup of ice water Silverware. Absolutely zero sense of awareness or perceptive reasoning by Sharon or the bussers. Sharon then brings the card swipe to the table for payment. Not the standard practice at black bear.. you usually are given a ticket to take up front. I thought she did this so I felt forced to tip her. Then she said she told them not to buss our table? Not sure why that was even a thing brought up, it was evident this was a fresh table of food 5 min prior. I believe she or the bussers thought or was told i was going to dine n dash or something, despite coming here frequently and paying ~$50 ish each time. Not sure how when she looked right at me head the opposite way of the exit but rather to the bathroom. Not sure why even a teenage busser couldn't make evident this was a whole table of untouched food, I mean unless they were told to do it anyway... how else do you explain my table being bussed before my tab was closed?
This is beyond gross on a food level. This is gross on a people level. I felt so singled out.. 😞 I was the only person asked to pay this way. I don't know that I will ever be right with leaving my food unattended at this restaurant or any restaurant ever again for that matter. This is a trust issue that I'm not even sure how this happens. I have taken my kid out to eat lots and in all my life have never had this happen.
Please spare me the pre-written response Black bear. I'm not emailing management because I won't be back to your disgusting and dishonest establishment. But want the rest of your patrons to know how much they can TRUST you all to serve them. To know how honestly they will be treated. How unsafely their food will be handled while you arent looking. #sadday # nomoregiantbiscuits...
Read moreOverdue update from another pleasant visit back on August 7th (2023) in the evening: It was a nice, warm, and balmy evening, .. and with my two little boys in tow, settled in for a delicious dinner at what is now our favorite location in the chain.
The amazing, incredibly warm, kind, caring, gracious and very accommodating service by our Gracie - our server, made the visit nothing short of stellar.
My two little boys’ endless questions, playful and gleeful curiosity, and huge excitement to say the least, didn’t cause her to miss a beat but she rather embraced it with phenomenal patience, and so warmly and wittingly engaged them making them look forward to every little bit of interaction with her.
Highlighting the best parts of our visit starting with the stellar and impeccable service by Gracie, and great food that always hits the spot, I can certainly say that we’ll become regulars at the Fountain location.
Do check them out especially in Fountain, .. and you’ll leave feeling like you just came from a visit to Nana’s; full in your belly, and showered with love .. haha 😊

I believe this is the second time I’ve dined at this location; for dinner with my little boys - this time.
Really love this location’s sleepy and quiet charm [for lack of a better way to describe it], and it may well be my best Black Bear Diner location in and around the Springs.
Far above that, Megan [who I later learned is also an Assistant Manager towards the end of our visit] is worth a ton of recognition and appreciation.
Not only was her patience, joy, ease, and great ability to help and manage a situation involving me and my little boys’ truly phenomenal, .. it was so evident that she cares about her customers and truly loves people without a doubt.
She went above and beyond to brighten up our evening in the most heartwarming way, after our got accidentally cleared without my consent, .. and despite my constant reassurance didn’t stop apologizing and checking on us even as we left.
Megan is without a doubt a gem and pillar at the Fountain location. A sweet and true servant leader loved by her coworkers and all her regular customers.
Hope Black Bear also goes the extra mile to take great care of her and the rest of the wonderful staff at Fountain 🙏🏽
Oh 🤦🏽♂️ .. by the way .. hahaha, how could I forget the food, the Main Event??!! 😅 The portions were humongous for our hungry trio, and the presentation, taste and flavor, freshness and all, … it was definitely made with love as the main ingredient holding everything together. ☝🏽👍🏽 Thank you so much for the recommendations and amazing care Megan!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’ll certainly stop by at this location again and again with my little boys’ in the future 🫡...
Read moreI came here to eat yesterday and it was probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Me and my son sat there for 15-20 minutes without having anyone come to us. Not even for drinks. I had to flag another waitress down to tell her we haven’t been served and haven’t even gotten our drinks. She brought us our drinks and got our waitress for us. Our waitress finally came to our table almost 10 minutes later, didn’t even introduce herself or apologize for the wait, just asked us what we wanted. I told her I didn’t get a menu. Then she let me know it was the newspaper in front of me (it was my first time, I had no idea.) So she comes back maybe 5 mins later and takes our order. During all my waiting, the guy cleaning tables was literally throwing all the dishes into the dirty bucket and was causing such a ruckus/ being so loud, everyone turned to look including the waitress. It was another 45 minutes before a manager brought out our food. One of my sides was wrong, and my sons food barely fit on his plate. So I had to wait yet again, to flag another waitress down because I had not seen ours since she took our order. She got us taken care of and even refilled my drink worth our me asking. When I received my correct side, the potatoes were not even fully cooked. I pretty much gave up at that point. Another table next to me had complained as well about not seeing their waitress since she took their order. The other waitress, Joan, who had been taking care of me brought me the check and had already taken half off for me without me even asking. I completely understand being behind, busy, etc. Just at least be courteous and ask for help or let your customers know about the wait. I will not...
