This is not a negative review. Wienerschnitzel is exactly what it promises to be, and I also think the recent opening went smooth. But overall nothing to write home about.
GOOD: Great location - Fountain really needed a place like this, even amongst so many other fast food businesses nearby. It's nice to have a place that serves hot dogs in our little town. Service is very friendly. I also think that for a small restaurant the layout is sensible. The whole operation is efficient.
MEH: Look, there is nothing wrong with the food in and of itself. It's just not anything all that special. I ordered the bratwurst and a small fries. The brat was good, but nothing special. I wanted it to be better than I could make at home. I was also disappointed at the very limited menu; not a lot of options. I wish there were more combos available - they had very few. At most fast food chains, you can order a sandwich with a drink and a side as a combo, but not really here. Unless you are getting chili dogs, you are probably ordering your drink and side ala carte.
FOOTNOTES: The fries were nicely cooked, if not especially well salted. This review is preliminary, as I've only been here once so far. I intend to come back and try some of the other menu items that might impact this review, such as the "premium" beef hot dog option, as well as the veggie dogs.
This 3 star review could become 4 stars as I get the chance to try other menu options, and as this location matures.
For now, I would only recommend this restaurant to parents with...
Read moreThree of us went there this Sunday November 24, 2024 after a long day hike in Helen Hunt Falls followed by Garden Of the Gods trails… we wanted to “reward” ourselves to some “bad” food… well, we got TERRIBLE food -and service, teenagers maybe. We went drive-through, I ordered two chili cheese dogs and the teen (or young adult?) asked me “do you want chili and cheese on your dogs?” I stated yes I do, I want two chili cheese dogs. Does that make sense? And I proceeded to tell them that there was another order for my friends, so they stated their order for burgers and such. Today my friends and I messaged in a group chat and to our surprise we all got sick yesterday night not long after Wienerschnitzel’s Fountain. There’s a lot of things I could say, but I’m going to keep them to myself, but management needs to step it up and if not management then whoever hired the manager needs to address the situation, I don’t wanna hear some excuse that this restaurant is new. Therefore, they’re still working out “kinks.” Bad food and bad service have nothing to do with “kinks.” we called tonight to ask for the manager and to our surprise the kids Working answered the phone and said “hello, this is” and they proceeded to hang up. We thought maybe it was an accident so we called back and rather they picked up the phone and hung up the phone. To say, we are disappointed is an...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Went through the drive thru and when I got home noticed I had the wrong order. I called the store and they told me that if I come back in 24 hours with the receipt they would remake the food. I went back after four hours and showed my receipt. They told me I would also need the food from the wrong order I was given. I told them I threw it away and they said they could not give me a refund or remake the food with out the wrong order. I went back to my house and fished the wrong order out of the dumpster I threw it in and brought it back to them. The manager at the register did not know how to give a refund and only gave me a partial refund. She said taxes are non refundable and that was why the dollar amounts did not match. She had to call one of the cooks from the back to help her give me a full refund. To the cooks credit he did offer to remake the food even after the refund but I declined. When I asked for the managing partner or franchisee contact info she said she could not give it to me, but there is contact info on the door if I would like to...
