I have been a regular customer here since they opened. One of my favorite places and I often order Raw Oysters on the half shell. Tonight there was a new server ... So, I asked if she could have the Chef save the top part of the shell so I could keep the entire shell. I grind them up to put in my Chicken's feed because the calcium makes the egg shell harder and it helps them lay more. An assistant manager and for lack of a better term his HENCHMAN came out to tell me they do not have the upper shell because they buy them PRE-OPENED !!!! WHAT ???? Never eat shell fish that isn't freshly shucked or when cooked doesn't open. I said that can cause a deadly bacterial infection. He and the Henchman walked away without looking at me and with a smug look on their face. As if to say "F" Round Eye..... So, in the past I've gotten both halves of the shell. Tonight shows me the regular Manager "WEN" was either slick enough to dig through the garbage for pre-eaten oysters or tonight they hadn't sold any other oysters tonight for "Mr. Smug" to dig them out. Or, it was BELOW him. Anyway, If you eat at this chain be sure your order is for COOKED items. Meanwhile ...... I'll have my Raw Oysters at CHERRY POCKET down the road in Haines City where I can sit at the oyster bar and see them throw away questionable Raw Oysters and Shuck them in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're in the mood for a hands-on seafood feast, Hungry Crab š¦ delivers a messy, flavorful experience that's hard to forget. The star of the show here is definitely the seafood boils. You choose your seafood (like snow crab, shrimp, crawfish, or mussels), pick a seasoning (garlic butter, Cajun, lemon pepper, or the "Hungry Special" blend), and adjust the heat level. Everything comes steaming hot in a plastic bag, loaded with juicy, spicy flavor.
The staff is friendly and fast, even when the place is packed. They're great at walking first-timers through the menu and making sure gloves, bibs, and napkins are on hand. Sometimes thereās a short wait during peak hours, but the servers keep things moving efficiently without rushing you.
Hungry Crab has a casual, upbeat vibe, think nautical-themed decor, paper-covered tables, and upbeat music in the background. Itās lively and loud, which fits the experience of cracking crab legs and sharing a boil with friends or family. Itās not a quiet dinner spot, but itās fun and welcoming.
Hungry Crab š¦ is a go-to spot if youāre craving bold seafood flavors and donāt mind getting a little messy. Great for groups, casual dates, or anytime you want a satisfying seafood fix without the fuss. Just come hungry and ready to get your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was close to this location on an overnight business trip and we decided to give it a shot after reading a few reviews and noting the pics of the happy hour menu. We arrived about 4 PM on a weekday and I was immediately disappointed when they said they no longer have happy hour. I LOVE a good happy hour, but we understand the current times AND I love seafood more so we decided to stay. Service was adequate and would have scored better had they replaced the utensils my business partner dropped on the floor instead of responding, "Real crab eaters don't need those." Menu is overpriced for what you get. I ordered the crab, shrimp and crawfish combo. When the steam bag was first placed in front of me, I was under-whelmed as it seemed very light, but the portion size was not too bad. It did have the tiniest crawfish I've ever eaten, way too much sausage and a small portion of crab. The sauce was okay, nothing special. I ensured that I'm leaving a review for the correct location as I would be willing to visit another Hungry Crab, maybe the Alafaya location, another time I'm...
