Way Out West — Local services in Haines City

*Editing the review to highlight how great customer service can fix a bad experience. After I posted my original review, Dan contacted me and thoroughly apologized in the name of the owners, he was extremely professional and I could tell he was being genuine. That alone changed our minds about the company. After I said that all was well, I offered to remove my old review, which he declined and said that “people need to know that we too make mistakes”, That’s integrity and I appreciate that. We ended up giving the company another chance and my wife got a nice pair of white python boots.

Though I would be happy to delete the old one, I’ll just add to it, you can read it below.*

Had an awful customer service experience. For context, my wife and I are locals, right here in Davenport, I recently got my very first pair of boots as a gift and I was absolutely in love with them, the wife wanted a pair and after driving by the store for years we finally decided to visit and buy her some boots, this was 12/11/24, my wife, a friend of ours and I stopped at the store around 6:20pm, I came straight from the gym and was still wearing workout clothes, I admit that it might not be appropriate for the ambiance, but in my defense the store would close soon and we wanted to go learn line dancing at a country bar that night (and we wanted to at least have the right outfit for it). We walk in, there are some people shopping and two employees, a young lady and a gentleman, they were helping other customers so we browsed around a little, soon enough the young lady finished and came to assist us, she was excellent and was going above and beyond bringing things for my wife to look, again, WE WERE THERE TO BUY, easy sale. As the young lady talked about some exotic boots with my wife, the older gentleman snapped his fingers at her and completely ignoring us told her “go see if they need anything on the other side”, where he was (a family was trying some pants I believe), the poor girl froze while all three of us said how rude that was, we’re pretty sure that our money is worth the same as the other people in there, she went to the other side, they obviously didn’t need any assistance so she came back, and apologized a lot (not even her fault). But unfortunately that interaction ruined our moods and we decided to leave immediately.

This long review is not in any way meant to trash the store, their selection of items was indeed very good and the prices seemed pretty fair, we were very excited to buy, but apparently the gentleman there that night wasn’t in the mood to sell...

Josh is awesome! Love the product variety, service and prices! Being a Cowboy Boot fanatic, but being burdened with an unusual sized foot, I search stores and internet whenever I can for that "perfect" boot. I am picky in style and my feet are very picky in comfort. By happenstance, we passed Way Out West on our way to spend the weekend at the Flower & Garden Expo in EPCOT. We were greeted by one of the sales people and after a short explanation of what I was looking for, Josh immediately recognized my dilemma, confronted me with the perfect boot, color, style and size. Though I didn't fit into them right away, he steamed, stretched and massaged the boots that after a couple of tries they fit like a glove. It usually takes me a week or two to be comfortable in new shoes/boots, these were awesome. Josh was AWESOME. Thank you so much for being able to identify my needs and wants; knowing your product and going the extra mile to make them comfortable. While driving on I-4, we saw a billboard about this place. My daughter and I decided to stop in and find a good pair of boots that's she's been asking for. Now, I'm clueless on boots. I knew nothing when walking into the store, but I figured it was worth checking out. I'm glad we stopped! Two different employees were very quick to acknowledge us, asked a few questions to find out what we were looking for exactly, and taught us how to tell if the boot properly fits. Once we narrowed down what my daughter was wanting, we tried on a couple pair. The pair she liked most was a bit too small, but they were able to stretch out the boot and it fit perfectly! She's so proud of her new pair of boots, and I will definitely return to this place when she's ready for a replacement!
