I recently visited Spoon and Sparkles, a local ice cream shop, and had a somewhat average experience overall. While there were some positive aspects, there were also a few areas that left room for improvement.
The first thing that caught my attention was the charming ambiance of the shop. The bright colors and whimsical decor created a cheerful and inviting atmosphere. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming as well, which added to the pleasant first impression.
Now, let's talk about the main highlight of Spoon and Sparkles - their ice cream selection. The menu offered a wide variety of flavors, from classic options like chocolate and vanilla to more unique and creative choices. I commend them for their efforts in providing a diverse range of flavors to cater to various tastes.
Moreover, the presentation of their ice cream creations was visually appealing. The scoops were beautifully arranged in the cups or cones, and the addition of colorful sprinkles and toppings enhanced the overall look. The presentation alone added to the anticipation of savoring the ice cream.
Unfortunately, the taste did not quite match the promising visuals. While the ice cream flavors were decent, they lacked that extra element to make them truly exceptional. The textures, particularly in terms of creaminess, could have been improved as well. I expected each scoop to be velvety and smooth, but it fell short of expectations.
Additionally, I found the pricing at Spoon and Sparkles to be a bit on the higher side, considering the overall quality. Although a premium ice cream experience should come with a higher cost, the value for money felt slightly imbalanced. However, I must acknowledge that this could be a subjective opinion and might not apply to everyone.
In terms of service, the staff members were friendly but not particularly attentive. There were instances where I had to wait for a considerable amount of time to place my order, and there seemed to be some confusion among the staff regarding the preparation of certain ice cream creations. Perhaps a bit more training and organization would greatly enhance the overall efficiency of the shop.
Overall, my experience at Spoon and Sparkles was satisfactory. While the colorful atmosphere and vast ice cream selection were definitely positives, the taste of the ice cream fell short of my expectations. With some adjustments in flavor quality, textures, and service efficiency, Spoon and Sparkles could become a go-to destination for ice cream lovers.

Read moreMy family frequently stops in here and it’s always incredibly clean and welcoming. The staff is always kind and patient and willing to go the extra mile for the customers. My family came in today and it was an extremely busy Sunday. There only seemed to be 2 people working but they were working as fast as possible and trying to communicate with the customers. The store was completely swamped (we’ve never seen it so busy) it was clear they overwhelmed with orders, we were still helped as fast as possible and received excellent service from the employees who were working, they were quick to ask if we needed help after we had already been served when we had a question. We love stopping by here and will continue to do so.
I saw some negative reviews posted stating that this place wasn’t as family friendly as they claimed. We’ve stopped in with kids and have witnessed their interactions with kids in the past and today. They’ve always been nothing but kind to the family’s that frequent the business from what we’ve seen even as going as far as starting conversations with the children at the registers and offering us bigger cup sizes for the ice cream so they don’t make a mess and cones on the side. Helping them pick their boba tea flavors etc.
We were able to meet the owner and manager a while back and they were just as kind then as they were today! They’ve made lots of great changes to the...
Read moreWhile I appreciate this place for its friendly environment and a variety of sweets such as Fro-yo ice cream, macarons and more. Unfortunately, their boba is not what I expected from the vast variety and quality flavor you may experience at boba shops in Orlando. Recently moving back to Davenport meant I lost having so many boba options near to my home so when I saw they were offering boba here naturally I was excited but prepared to keep an open mind since this is not a boba shop.. we ordered the traditional milk tea and the lavender I can tell you right away their products are without a doubt powdered and not natural tea (I’ve been to many boba spots and can easily tell the difference) I saw the young girl in the back make everything in smoothie blender.. I appreciate that there was milk alternatives but the flavor and lavender flavor alone was just straight up syrup. Not a good balance of flavor and the boba was subpar.. not the chewy consistency I usually enjoy. The drink made me feel sick to my stomach because it was SO sweet. I understand a business thing to maximize their profits and suit cravings for all… but perhaps they should leave this to those who actually understand the craft of boba tea and leave it to those who know how to properly make a drink. So a warning to local boba lovers like myself it’s far better to make the 30-45 min drive to Orlando if you want GOOD...
