I had such a horrible experience at this Michaels that i will never step foot in another one of their stores again. This is a copied version of what i sent their corporate office. My family and I have been frequenting Michael's stores for many years, and until today we have been happy with the selection, and atmosphere. And although the customer service has always been lacking we have chosen to overlook that because of the wonderful options, and prices made available to us. But after today we will never step foot in another Michaels again. Today i took my mother to Michaels to purchase a planner, and a few other things. When we got to the checkout lane we encountered an employee who i believed was named Lygia, after she rung up my purchase I showed her on my phone the 60% off coupon I had from Joanns and asked her if they were able to match a competitor's coupons. She very rudely looked at me and shoved my phone back at me after i had placed it on the counter for her to scan, telling me that I did not have to give her my phone because she had the coupon my the register and that she couldn't scan it anyway. This was said in such a demeaning, and rude way that even the customers behind me were shocked at her treatment of us. I promptly paid for my things, and then moved on to help my mother process her own purchase. Once again Lygia was rude and even worse berated my mother who speaks very little english after she had a hard time with the credit card machine. Telling her that all she had to do was slide it and that she needed to stop waiting for the blue lights to flash. Again customers behind us were shocked at her behavior and one woman was visibly shaken as was I. I don't know if this treatment was racially motivated, or if she was simply a hateful and rude person. But from now on i will drive the extra miles to go to a Joanns, Hobby Lobby, or any other stationary stores for my project needs. Because after being treated like a second class citizen today i will never step foot in a Michaels again today, my mother was especially upset after the experience, and we will be returning tomorrow only to return our purchases and buy them at a store that does not allow racist employees to berate, and abuse...
Read moreSurprising I found & odd size, pre made frame I need 3. I was there for aprox 25 Min. When I checked out my impression of the cashier. " she was rude. " & " she talked down to me like I was stupid when I ask a question. " when she spoke she spook very ruff to me. I usually don't notice the tone of the cashiers voice because your cashiers are vary pleasant. This is the 1st time I thought one of your cashiers was rude. The lady at the door was extremely nice, with a very pleasant voice. " This experience will not keep me from shopping at Michael. There is many things I like about Michaels. I purchase many things throu out the year. Michaels carries merchandise that no other stores carry. Maybe the cashier needs to go to a class on manners toward the customers. The first words out of your mouth should not be rude. That puts the customer on the defensive. My purchase, as you probably know was a picture frame approx. 8 x 20. She ask me if I wanted it put in a bag, ! ! In my opinion all purchases should always be automatically be put in a bag, unless to large or floral arrangement sometimes you don't want in a bag. The customer will let you know if they don't want their purchase in a bag. If I had walked out with the picture frame not in a bag I would have felt I was stealing. Plus how would that look to other people ? I have never been ask if I want a bag for that size picture frame. By the time I left, she had put me in a bad mood. I said. " Don't forget the discount for being over ahe 65. " She said. " You didn't buy anything else " No explanation just " You didn't buy anything else" " Put your charge card in " I think you get the point of...
Read moreI have to say I'm not upset with the store specifically. However, I went in to this store for a picture frame w/ a coupon for 40% off one regular priced item. The frame I wanted was on sale buy one get one free. The clerk says thar I can't use the coupon because the item is already 50% off, so I said then give me one for half price but one rings up full price, and he says if I'd like to use my 40% off coupon I can use it on the one at full price. I said why would I do that when you told me they are 50% off take the sale price. But he says the only way to get the sale price is to buy 2 and the second one is free. I said so which is it is the item 50% off on each or is it buy one at full price and get the second free. He says we'll you have to pay full price for one to get the second one free. The coupon doesn't say I can't combine it with other offers so sell me the first one at full price with the coupon and give me the second one free. I'll be in touch with the corporate...
