Unfortunately the search for plain ol fashioned southern bbq continues.
Ordered a family pack (pork) $40. Half slab ribs $? and added brisket to that for around $3. Chose baked beans and cole slaw as that the goat when it comes to sides at a bbq joint. Out the door was close to $80 so definitely the most expensive bbq we have gotten thus far.
Seeing them in Chattanooga and longing for some great bqq we tried it out.
Pulled pork- not a fan of burnt ends . Sauce was OK
Brisket- good enough I'd order it again
Ribs- oops, I used the 2 sauces on my brisket so Ribs where eaten dry. Seemed small and had some tough edges.
Slaw- well, maybe they ran out of sugar and no creaminess to it. Reminded me of vinager and cabbage.
Baked beans- one of the 1st things that made me want to try Edlys. I can't stand canned beans. Add some pork , peppers and onion with some bbq sauce. These where a mix of beans and well...we'll....
Ultimately, like Martin's, it went in the garbage can . Didn't want 2nds. Big upset for us. Bummer.
So far we have tried:
JJs - no thanks Martin's- if you like tex-mex bbq I guess? Jim&Nicks- as always lol but still no bullseye BbCuties- decent regualr ol bbq that huts the spot Denims (Spring Hill), good loaded tators Some other place in the Boro/Franklin that forgot to give us sauce- dismal at best
Still need to try the meat shop in Summertown area.
We only support Purple Dasiy in Chattanooga and another 🔥 joint is in Henegar AL called Bama Boys bbq. Both are 2 hours from us each way but feeling I gotta recharge my taste buds before trying any new places.
On the average a family pack for 4 is around mid 20s... Ed's is twice the price. We where hoping for it to be a winner. Don't know j...

Read moreMy group had originally come to The Factory for the Farmers market that was advertised online. Since we are guests to the area, it sounded like a fun way to check out local wares. Well we arrive and while The Factory is open, there doesn't appear to be a farmers market taking place. We were able to ask one of the regular vendors what the deal was at the flower booth, and she told us it was canceled until March. So, whoever runs the Facebook events needs to get on it because it's still advertising a farmers market every sunday for the month of February. In any case we decided to check out this BBQ joint while there. Food was competitively priced and portions were good sizes. Came here for lunch with 2 other people. The 2 others are vegetarians, and despite their small selection of vegetarian friendly items, they were both happy with the BBQ Avacado plate. I wanted the BBQ Nachos but with fries. They were out of fries :( I got the nachos instead, but the nachos aren't tortilla chips, they are potato chips. The meat I chose was brisket. It had good flavor, not dry, but the nachos were spicy. My mom got a side of grits casserole, it was also spicy. Our friend got some cornbread... you guessed it, it was spicy. Anyway, be warned the food is a bit spicy. They're a big fan of jalapeños. The coke machine was out of coke at the time we were there, but they have good ice lol. Crunchy ice! Yay. The atmosphere was loud, not a good place to have a conversation. They had several tvs with...
