We had a racist experience this morning. We were the only people of color. We stood in line and did two separate orders: my sister went first and then my mom and I second. We ordered and were not asked our names. We noticed everyone’s name was being called to receive an order, but we thought since we were standing right there we would catch our orders. After about 10 minutes, my sister’s acai bowl came out as “to go bom bom” and just left on the counter without confirmation or any nice greeting from staff like they were offering every other white person. When my sister’s order came through we knew we were next. But then four other white families’ orders came out. So we spoke to a staff person and asked politely about our smoothies. She said, without even stopping her work to check, “I think they’re being made right now,” and two more families that came way after us received their orders. We spoke to the manager who said, “We have a system,” and he refused to console us or properly : “Clearly not.” And we remained waiting. We gave them one more chance and another person who came through the door got their order immediately and their name was called. We went to the manager to ask for a refund for lack of service. We had paid $20 for two smoothies only to wait 20 minutes, not receive a solid response about what’s going on, and then be gaslit that they have a system. We never received an apology. We never were taken into consideration. I have worked in multiple restaurants and have seen managers bend over backwards for the smallest concern and even a customer who’s wrong, but this kind of racist dismissal that we are less than and undeserving of care and attention is terrible and says a lot about the staff and manager and why there aren’t people of color receiving their business. Your customer service needs to be...
Read moreToday would be no stars because (once again) we left the house and drove here only to learn that the worker(s) had other places to be. Sign on the door says “Will be back in 30 mins” but no one knows how long that’s been there. We have waited 30 minutes and it’s now 10 minutes from their normal closing time. So we’re not optimistic they will re-open.
So why 3 stars? Because we’ve had many delicious bowls here over the years but their customer service and consistency has dropped to a new low. Some workers charge random prices though I always order the same thing, and their price list doesn’t match what they charge.
I really hate to leave a negative review but I feel they don’t value their customers as much as...
Read moreVery busy on a Saturday morning—I saw many people ordering açaí bowls, which seemed to be their most popular menu item. The menu is not extensive, and items were definitely on the expensive side. I opted for a small mango bowl which was $8 😳 It was good but I don’t know that honey went that well with the flavors, and I would have liked another topping for the price. Fun place for a once in a while splurge, but not somewhere I could...
