Overall-good place, decent coffee, excellent food, high prices!
I looked at reviews of this place before checking it out. It's on the rear side of a large office complex building and it is surprisingly difficult to find a street parking spot. It's no fault of the cafe, but not something I would of expected in that area.
It's a nicely decorated and spacious coffee shop that also has food. The baristas were relatively friendly and I ordered a large latte which came in a small cup. When I asked if that was the large they said that that was the biggest size they do lattes in. Good to know...I don't recall if they charged different prices for the "large" or if there was just one latte price.
Anyways, we also ordered 2 breakfasts - one had an omelet and the other more of a standard southern American breakfast (bacon, grits, etc.) When it came time to pay the total came to over $50!! 2 breakfasts and 2 coffee drinks is how much?? It turns out that we were accidentally charged for extra meat, but it only took $6 off.
It came to my attention later that this cafe is connected with the hotel next door. Hence the prices! Duh!
The latte and espresso were decent, but nothing to write home about.
Then the food came out and looked great! Surprisingly artistic white plate presentation, light fluffy omelet, delicious grits, original and very tasty potatoes. Really delicious!! Only the salad was not quite up to the caliber of the rest of the food. Also, the waiter was very nice.
I'd recommend coming for the atmosphere and the food if you don't...
Read moreI was staying at the beautiful Harpeth hotel and called the coffee shop to try to place an order while I was on my way out of the hotel. A woman answered the phone and instantly sounded annoyed to be speaking on the phone. I asked for two iced lattes and asked if she recommended anything on the food/breakfast menu and she rudely said I could look it up myself on the website. I explained to her I couldn’t find the menu on the website and if there was any item she would recommend and she sounded annoyed, sighed, and hung up. I tried calling again twice and no one picked up.. I then showered and 20min later went downstairs to the coffee shop and there were two woman standing behind the counter chatting with no customers and when I asked if they had gotten the iced lattes I ordered they both laughed and one woman said “The call must have dropped.”
They didn’t prepare the coffees I ordered and purposely hung up and wouldn’t pick up after I called again. I get it, working in the service industry can be tough at times but there were no customers waiting for anything, the employees weren’t busy, and they laughed when I asked about my order. I just went to another coffee shop after this experience. I’ve read similar bad experiences from customers of this coffee shop. The Harpeth hotel is amazing but whoever manages this coffee shop should consider hiring new staff that is...
Read moreDuring Christmas time, this little Coffee Bar turns into “The Worlds Best Cup of Coffee” pop up bar, reminiscent of the movie ‘Elf’. It was easy to find in downtown Franklin. Very small, and decorated adorable for Christmas. The line was long. You order your cocktail at the counter, and find a place to sit. We tried to order food, but they mixed up our order, and we never got it. We had to get a refund per the manager. While waiting for the food that never came, we had cute holiday drinks. They had a good menu of alcohol and non alcoholic drinks for the holiday. The hotel has valet parking in front for $10. If you get it validated in the main bar area it is $5. The lounge and main bar area is at the front when you walk in. They had a musician playing guitar, but it was not holiday music. The Worlds Best Cup of Coffee was around the corner to the right. Lastly, a little niche inside was decorated with the grinch and a Santa sleigh for photo...
