The Candy Kitchen — Local services in Frederick

My husband and I couldn't resist going into this shop and were very glad we did! We bought half a pound of various nut clusters, both milk and dark, all of which were delicious -- the nuts were fresh and crisp rather than tasteless or soggy as some can be. Also some really yummy coconut chocolates. As we were checking out, the friendly and helpful salesperson offered us free fudge samples; she explained all the flavors and let us try all of them that interested us for free. All of them were fun and great, but the pumpkin pecan fudge was especially amazing -- like the best of both a pumpkin and pecan pie :) We also loved both the peanut butter and the "ultimate" peanut butter fudge (hard to decide!). The Candy Kitchen is a small artisan choclate maker. The factory is based in Waynesboro, PA. Their chocholate is also known under the brand Despina Léos and Zoë's Chocolate Co. I am confused by all the names but was told that the business has been in the family for 108 years. Their cocoa beans are sourced through Switzerland. (Their gummy candy comes from Europe as well.) The truffles are excellent. The fudge is good too. Very friendly staff. Worth a visit!
