So the other day on Sunday, I took a lovely lady on a date. We went to a whole bunch of different places in Frederick and towards the end of the date I figured let’s get some ice cream. Now ice cream for myself and the date that I had, Doesn’t necessarily work with us all the time due to the fact of our lactose intolerance issues. We had gone to one other ice cream shop to check out and see if they had sherbet as an option. And they did not serve sherbet. So being a local, I was thinking to myself what other place might serve sherbet as an option and I thought of North market pop shop. I had seen plenty of people going in and out and enjoying ice cream on the sidewalk in the chairs that they provide and other people inside, sitting down and enjoying the sugary Delight. So my date and I went inside and we were looking at the menu and we found they did not have sherbet, but they did have something pretty close which did not have dairy in it, which was sorbet. At least not enough dairy to trigger our lactose issues. Once we figured out what we wanted, which was the mango sorbet, We sat down and decided to dig in. My date used a spoon in her cup and was having issues getting a spoonful to put it in her mouth. Because the texture of the sorbet was as if they had gotten the toys from McDonald’s from the 90s, that was fake food, and served it to us. It tasted like plastic and rubber. With a hint of mango. It was by far absolutely disgusting. It reminded me of the movie flubber with Robin Williams but it wasn’t green this time. It was orange. I was half expecting a TV crew to come out of the back and be like “we got you lol, that was a joke”. But that did not happen. Never ever will I ever wish this on my worst enemy to go eat their sorbet. Disgusting!. Never ever ever ever ever ever Never ever ever ever again!!!!!!. Side note, I feel as if flubber is inside my stomach bouncing around still. It was not a...
Read moreVery good selection of sodas. Friendly employees. Sloppy Joes were very low quality. Tasted like some cheap chilli sauce on a bun. Pricing is my main complaint. Apparently some sodas are considered premium and come with an additional .75 cents charge per bottle. This would be fine if the premium sodas were labeled as such in the store. But it’s a pet peeve of mine to not know what I’m going to be charged. I had 42 bottles and none were marked as premium in the store but I was up charged for 5. I asked the cashier how a customer is to know which bottles are premium and she just said she knew. Ok seems a little shady. Otherwise a good...
Read moreWe visited during the Fire & Ice Festival, so I can't speak to how it normally is, but they handled us without much delay and were friendly. My wife and I got milkshakes, her's was vegan with vegan oat milk whipped cream. We aggreed that both were good but not as punchy a flavor as we've had in the past. Not sure exactly what it was, maybe lower cream content than other brands. They use local ice cream. I got blueberry cheesecake, which was a nice flavor, just kind of mild and not as sugary as I normally have had. Massive selection of sodas, lots of weird ones, and tons of candies you've never seen. Very cool place, felt like a...
