One of the worst meals of my life. I arrived at 11:30am (when they opened) with my co-worker for a nice business lunch. The door remained locked until 11:42am and we were greeted by a hostess who was obviously far less then thrilled to be a work. After being seated we informed her that we had a scheduled meeting approx 10 min away at 1:30pm and inquired if it would be an issue to have to food cooked in time to complete lunch by 1:15pm (1hr 45min after our arrival) she again did not seem happy with this but informed us this would not be an issue. She then proceeded to take our order and leave. After 15 min. of waiting for our drinks and sushi to arrive I was forced to walk into the kitchen to find the staff texting on their cell phones and informed that they wait for a full table before starting a meal. I was informed that our drinks had simply been "forgotten" and would be out shortly. When our drinks arrived at 12:14pm I ask about our food and our waitress snapped back " I don't have time to deal with this. My life is falling apart today" then walked off. at 12:30pm our hibachi arrived but they had forgotten our sushi. We requested it be canceled and our chef attempted to start cooking to find out that our hostess had forgotten to warm up the grill. He then informed us this would take 20 min and he would be back. At this point we informed him we did not have time to complete the meal and just needed to go. He offered to cook our food in the back and apply a $15 discount to each of our checks. We agreed were served shortly later with our food. After eating in a rush and not enjoying our food the bill came at full price and the hostess informed us that since each of our bills was less then $50 ($38 each) that the manager would not allow a discount. We requested to speak with the manager to find she could barley speak English and was unable to understand the issue. Do your self a big favor and just go up the street to Otani, much better food...
Read moreWe used to LOVE coming here, but very disappointed with tonight's service - or lack thereof!! 😕 Our server was extremely slow taking our drink orders and then coming back with drinks, it took over 25 minutes just to get our drinks for 2 people, me and my husband, and then the couple next to us. After 30 minutes of being sat at our table, we finally had our orders taken. *Meanwhile, the chef cooking at the table in front of us had a wireless speaker on his food cart blaring inappropriate 😳 music with foul language and racial slurs in it. I left the table to find a manager to speak to him and let him know about that & find out when we would get food. He says ok, he will deal with it, however, still never came to the chef or addressed it. That is when we finally got our salad at the table. Then it took another 20 min after that to get the soup served. Then the server finally clears those dishes, and we wait another 20 minutes AND still no chef arrives to start cooking! 😒 We flag down another server & ask about the status. Our server returns and explains that they were waiting on the chef in front of us to finish that table to then come cook for us!!!! 😠😡😤 Are you kidding?? We were there for over an hour at this point - still no chef & no food being cooked for our table of 8 people! 👉 We needed to leave to go pick up our daughter now, at this point we still had not ate, we got up & walked out, we had enough!! 👈 We let the hostess know what was going on and the bad service at this point. And so after 1.5 hours, we still did not get to eat dinner. Then the next couple next to us also got up and left!! Absolutely ridiculous!!! 🙄 We won't be back, we will continue going to Kobe's in South...
Read moreFood and service was great. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lack of certain menu items and the building.
Location is good but the building is very open and quite noisy. Everyone can see what's going on at every one else's table and if your expecting a relaxed atmosphere it could be, but I doubt it. Some of the hibachi houses have some segregated tables keeping noise to a minimum, this one is capitalizing on space to seat more quickly.
As far as menu items go, the normal steak chicken and shrimp is a staple to most hibachi places. As well as a seafood delight. However limit your mindset to only the more common popular items such as lobster tail, scallops and shrimp. I would love to see red snapper as an option some time.
I have only been here once so my limited knowledge of the menu is only for the summer season. During other seasons they have some special menu items.
I did not get to try the sushi as I got super full from the regular dinner.
Last thing, the rice is only rice! They will make it fried rice with so however there's no peas or diced carrots as apart if this. Yet again this may be an NC hibachi kind of thing. Veggies are standard as well except they have mushrooms with thier veggies. Do not expect mushrooms with the steak or broccoli with the chicken.
Cook was a great performer and...
