The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Fredericksburg

I really think the employees of this store are so great. This is the second time I've been to this store, for very different things. I purchased my thanksgiving ham from here with a bunch of sides and they all went over super well. The ham was amazing, customer service was amazing, and it was all really well organized. I decided to go back yesterday to order a sandwich as I was in the shopping center for something else. The employee who helped me was so kind. I didn't even have to say I didn't know what I was doing lol She immediately showed me the sandwich menu and when I felt overwhelmed, I asked her what her favourite sandwich was. She told me it was the one with the crispy onions on it and pickles. She mentioned the pickles were a bit spicy and I was super intrigued! She made the sandwhich super quickly and I took it to go, as I'm not going to lie - I'm a in the car eater kind of gal. It was so good! I had a good chuckle over the pickle, it was not spicy at all but the sandwich did have a great tiny kick from the honey mustard. Also, she was right - the crispy...

Ham salad was terrible ( very disappointing, as it's usually delicious)- full of mini fat, gristle, and tendon bits, part of skin rind. Had to stop eating it and spit out various bits of this ( gross, and worried about dental work). Staff was rude and dismissive, obviously closing at 5:30, when closing time was posted for 6 p.m. I had even called ahead to ask about hours to ensure they were open until 6 p.m. Staff seemed to have an attitude of "hurry up, place your order, pay for it, here you go- get out". Tried to ask questions about products, and was given curt response, or outright ignored. Have never had this happen at Honey Baked stores in NoVa- this is not the first time I have experienced rude behavior here, but it is the first time I have received substandard product- hence, this...

1 of Wifey and I favorite Lunch spots. We 1st came here in like 2000. We had lunch and fell in love with the honey baked ham store. They have like 12 sandwiches to choose from. They have honey baked ham and Turkey for those who don't eat the pork, but I am a pork consumer soooooo that's what I do. Wifey got the "Classic" Croissant, Lettuce, tomato, cheddar, mayo. I got the "Club" Wheat, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar, mayo and honey mustard. Great place. Oh yeah when you go sign up for rewards and get a free sandwich for joining on the spot. It's like a $6-7 value...
