Best Pupusas in Fredericksburg. Clean amd great tasting food.
Updating my review 12/5/18 for two reasons. We have been getting Pupusas since they opened here in Fdxbg. Last week, both my wife and myself got sick from their pupusas. Not only we got sick but also the usual flavor and consistency of the dish was not there. They have a lot of personnel turn over; so my wife called and inquired about the person making the pupusas. Whoever answered the phone lack the customer service skills to listen to her question and about us getting sick. Instead the usual must have been other thing we ate (interestingly, Pupusas is the only thing we both ate that evening). Sorry that the owners have such a high turnover with their staff and now is affecting the quality of their food. Adios!
A re-review furing Covid Times. Since my last update; we got Pupusas a few times and they got a bit better and the $1 dollar Wednesday was a good deal for those days you don't want to cook. For $10; my wife and I would be very satisfied and no cooking. HOWEVER.
Today, Nov 17 '21. My wife called to order 8 pupusas and the new deal is now $1.75. So the deal has gotten 75% more expensive without getting any improvement at all. Actually, quite the opposite, we've recently ordered pupusas at regular price, the the quality again was lack luster.
While I understand that inflation plays a part in increasing prices; Don~a Tere also need to at least maintain the quality of the food which is right now very sub par. No flavor, no consistency and a higher price is what you get. Also, we asked for both salsas green and red; only to get quarter full and very watered down salsa... just like adding water to milk.
I can no longer recommend this place to anyone. A foot long Subway is a much better meal and enough to buy...
Read moreOh where to begin since the experience was filled with so much displeasure. My wife ordered 3 pupusas. 2 cheese and one bean. We knew they had $1.50 pupusas on Wednesdays. When we got the bill it wasnât adding up. We asked the gentleman who helped us what was up and he said it was only cheese and bean, and two others that qualify for the deal. Two issues with that. One, what does qualify isnât listed anywhere. Two, why do me the disservice of not informing me of that when the order was for two cheese and one bean. We wouldâve just gotten them together to save some money. This was the start. Extremely annoying. Next, multiple people came in after us. We were all waiting. 20-30 minutes go by and I notice that two of the families had gotten their order before we received ours and they came in after us. Their orders were also much larger. My wife goes to the counter to inquire and before she can even say anything the woman at the counter immediately says âYour order isnât ready yet loveâ How can you know what my wife was going to ask before she even asked it? After that, my wife begins to come back to where we were sitting and the gentleman (the one who took the order earlier) corrects the lady at the counter and says that our order is ready. How long was the simple order of three pupusas sitting there? Especially since the other people who came in after us ordered much more food. Horrible experience. If I could give it a zero I would. Definitely donât...
Read moreWe ate here for the first time recently and was very pleasantly surprised! We tried a few different things. The plantain was pretty good! Also had the carne asada, The pescado, the refried beans, some variation of rice, salad and pupusa included in the order that we placed. All of it was pretty good! The staff was very friendly and even allowed us to taste some of the juice that is made in house. I didn't know that they make all of the bakery items in their location as well. Overall, a very great first visit. You will see in the photo that the soda machine was down if that means something to you, but they did have a vending area that included bottled beverages as well as the selection of some juices. Not a place that you would know to go to unless you're from the area or work near the...
