If I could give this place 10 stars I would ! Having moved to a rural area with limited shopping resources my shopping choices are online and wait days or weeks or the 1hr + drive I to FXBG. I have several older tools and appliances that have required battery replacement. Some of these OEM batteries haven't been made in yrs. But now for the 4th time I have driven to Batteries Plus and been so surprised at how amazingly helpful the entire staff is. The 1st. time I brought in a 70's retro flash light that belonged to my Dad that was rechargeable but, the battery pack was beyond saving and zero info on the pack or light. I explained that I expected the battery replacement to be a no go but, the young man working behind the counter got that I really had an attachment to the light. He immediately starting searching to get any info on the light but he too couldn't find any info on it. So he carefully removed the the deteriorating pack and was able to get enough info off 1 of the old corroded cells to build a new battery pack. after charging the old flashlight was good as new. My last trip to BP I had an old cordless soldering iron that was probably old enough to vote with the same problem and again another staff Wunderkind named Taylor was just as ready for the challenge! She too jumped into action to painstakingly build a new battery pack and in a matter of minutes my soldering iron was ready to roll. After giving it a full charge it too was working better than ever! This is the best place to find any battery from car to phone and tool batteries that are ready to go off the shelf. To help bringing he dead back to life in older items we love but cant find new batteries for from any big box store. In every situation Batteries Plus has been the best price and great quality as well as the most knowledgeable staff. I just cant say enough positive things about this place. ...
Read moreI bought a premium Duracell battery from these jokers less than a year ago for my 1998 Harley. It failed in less than a year and they offer NOTHING in warranty ⌠go someplace else for your battery business. I am.
I am an engineer and have a ridiculous amount of battery experience; I have had a lot of toys over the past 50 years, have had up to 7 motorcycles and ten cars at one time (including a Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Viper, jaguar, etc. ,etc), had an RV for over 10 years where I put 100K miles on it and my batteries and generator, 4+ boats with generators and batteries, run a shipping business with 6+ diesel Trucks, and spent 8 years in the Army (including wartime) using a gazillion different batteries and generators, I will say I am pretty good went it comes to knowing something about batteries. In sum -- 50+ years using 12V batteries and their systems in private, commercial, industrial, AND military practice.
But the manager says I abused the battery and it's death in less than a year is because of my activities. Since I rode the bike LESS THAN 4 times in the last year, usually keep it on a trickle charger, and have only had to change the battery THREE TIMES in the 20 years I have had the motorcycle, I think I would know that 11 months for a battery failure is NOT normal.
Do not use this place. They are overpriced and offer NOTHING for warranty after I foolishly paid for an overpriced premium Duracell battery less...
Read moreBatteries Plus needs to improve their supply management, tracking, and coordination among employees/customers, as the battery I bought/paid online said it was "in stock" and it wasn't. Although you promptly called and notified me of this issue in a very professional manner, you said it would be delivered the next day from another office in Woodbridge, VA, and it would arrive between 4 and 5pm. I called at 5pm and a different employee said the delivery person never delivered it and that it might be ready the next day. It arrived the next day and I went to pick it up, as well providing my old battery as a core exchange. When the employee tried to process/finalize the order, the result said that I actually owed more money, which doesn't make any sense since I should be reimbursed for the core battery exchange. The employee did the right thing and contacted management and they finally made it right. This pattern of events, however, demonstrates that Batteries Plus needs to improve its business processes, its computerized purchasing, and it must ensure that what they advertise online is...
