P.F. Chang's — Restaurant in Freehold Township

PF chang’s one of the premier Chinese chain restaurants is The USA. Over the period of times I have seen the restaurant become a quantity supplier. My yesterday’s experience was exactly what one would have if you buy a cheap Chinese product which looks nice and expensive but extremely poor quality CHEAP STUFF. The one star ⭐️ is for their Ambiance which is nice So is the freehold mall where this restaurant is. Almost their entire menu is a quick fix fried menu. Looks like they cannot afford good chefs so have tried to dummfy their dishes. We ordered chicken lattice wrap, miso salmon and kumgpao chicken along with J Lhor Cabernet . The only thing good was the Cabernet 😀. Lattice wrap had fried chicken glazed in Asian sauces fried noodles with lattice (high salt ,sugar and glazed food) this used to be so good veggies have just vanished from the dish. Kungpao chicken was the same story if you order any of their chicken dishes you will see same fried chicken glazed in little different sauces and served. There is nothing wrong in fried chicken (southern American cuisine does it very well) but theirs is chewy.. the food is such as if you are consuming a sack of salt. Miso salmon .. the only dish which required some skill as this has pan seared salmon with sauté spinach on the side .. this dish confirmed my assumption that they DO NOT have a chef. Salmon was seared at high heat overcooking the fish and spinach was flash tossed at high heat which made is partially cooked and crispy half cooked side . We had to return this one . Congrats P.F. Chang’s Freehold — you’ve mastered the art of doing nothing.

We show up on a Saturday night, half the restaurant sitting empty, yet we’re told to wait an hour to be seated. Fine. We finally get a table, get handed menus… and that’s where the magic ends. For the next 37 minutes we sat there like idiots, completely ignored. No water, no drinks, no “I’ll be right back.” Just menus tossed at us like participation trophies. Honestly, bravo — if handing out menus was the job, you’d all deserve a raise.

Meanwhile, servers walked by us like we were ghosts. Managers? Nowhere to be found. The place was dirty too — sticky floors, sloppy tables, bathrooms that made you not want to touch anything. If the dining room looks like this, I don’t even want to imagine the kitchen.

And let’s talk about their reservation system, which is a total scam. You can “make one,” but it’s only honored if booked two hours in advance. Two hours. So basically it’s not a reservation system, it’s just a useless gimmick that wastes your time.

This isn’t just bad service. This is NO service. This is a team that’s either untrained, uninterested, or just doesn’t care. Honestly, the staff looked like they were on autopilot and the managers couldn’t run a lemonade stand, let alone a restaurant.

Other P.F. Chang’s locations actually know how to treat customers. This one? It’s a disgrace to the brand. Corporate should be embarrassed this place is still open.

If you enjoy being ignored, eating in a dirty room, and wasting your night, by all means go to P.F. Chang’s Freehold. Otherwise, save your time and your sanity — go literally...

After being in the hospitality, food service industry for over 20 years I have to say that this was absolutely one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Starting with the 40 minute wait for a table and there were only 5-10 tables occupied!!! It’s completely understandable for a restaurant to have a long wait if the tables are occupied, but to wait so long for no apparent reason,.. besides hostess and servers being too lazy to wipe a table down and seat a party down for dinner,.. is just unacceptable. There was plenty of staff,.. I wish I could say there were understaffed but that was not the case. Where was management? It seemed as if the place was running itself, and quite poorly I may add. Our server was very nice and that’s about all the positive things I have to say about PF Changs in Freehold NJ! Oh and the string beans were good! Except for a random piece of meat I found amongst the beans lol.Truly unbelievable.. you can’t make this stuff up! Let’s not forget the rest of the staff looked sloppy and acted completely unprofessional. The hostess was literally wiping down tables onto the floor,.. leaving the floor filthy while rolling her eyes with attitude. Very sad,.. I ve been to many PF Changs and never had such a negative experience. Silverware was dirty,.. Mongolian beef was dry and just not good! I hope owners eyes are opened by my review.
