Absolutely hated this Denny's location. We were on vacation and we always stop in and a Denny's because the food is usually dependable and good at a reasonable price. This location when we got there for breakfast was packed but that's not a problem we waited and we were seated after just a couple minutes. When we ordered our drinks my husband's coffee was cold and we had to wait and waved down our server to let him know that our coffee was cold. He was nice and said well I just poured the last of it and I just made a new pot. And I had laughed and I said maybe there's something you shouldn't tell us. He said well I just got here so I poured what was left and I said OK fine & me & my husband laughed like we could not believe this. So finally he came and brought us a fresh cup of coffee and no cream and before we even had a chance to ask for the cream he flew away. When he came back he wanted to take our order and that's when we asked him if he can also bring the cream for the coffee and he had the straws in his hands when he was giving the coffee and giving us our soda and water and I walked off with our straws well we got the cream but never got the Straws. Well breakfast arrived and it was incorrect to boot it was cold and it just was horrible. My husband's toast was a joke we couldn't help but laugh because it didn't even look toasted its look like they took it out of the bag and out of the 4 slices you know how they cut it in half only 1 piece was buttered. Well we looked and we saw another table was sending their food back as well. My played had a Belgian waffle with sausage and bacon with eggs. All I asked was if I could please make the bacon Well done And my eggs over medium. Well I don't know what happened but I got for limp pieces of bacon am I eggs under cooked and gooey and no syrup in which we had to go to another table that had left to retrieve it. When we complain to the manager she was very flippant and distant and it appeared she did not care about our experience in her restaurant. And another customer looked at my husband and said can you believe this? And my husband city I know I saw you send back your food to. I would never come back to this Denny's ever ever again. There are so many other places to eat in Newark and we plan on visiting there a lot so we will find another place to have breakfast. Stay away from this dannys worst food and worst service ever. O and I did tell you they gave us the wrong receipt and then printed us another one that had our order on it and told us we paid the right amount. The 1st receipt did not have anything that we ordered it was somebody else's but they gave us the receipt and fortunately I took a picture of it before we gave it back and we have called the Home Office to advise them of this horrible...
Read moreToday, Tuesday, November 11, 2018, I made the visit with my friend, as we normally do. We arrived around 8:20 p.m. They gave us the table but no one attended us, we realized that they were sitting down to other people and they took the order later and offered them a few times when they did not offer us anything. After 20 minutes my friend got up and went to the front to see what was happening and if someone could attend us and still had to wait for 10 minutes standing there and nobody paid attention to him while there were employees, he spoke with the manager who was in charge of the shift and I explain what was happening he said he would send someone, after that we waited another 10 minutes. At last someone came to meet us and we told her that we had waited for a while and we told her that it was happening because they were attending to those who were arriving after us and she told us that she was only there when there were more people there, and because what we said the lady was very upset with us and that she was not going to take the order and that she did not care to help us and left us alone at the table she turned around and kept taking orders from the other people, We bothered because after we waited a long time for them to take care of us, they received us in that rude and very bad mood on the part of that lady. I got up again and asked to speak with the manager and explain what was happening to him that he said he would talk to her, then she got very angry and got into the conversation that I had and the manager saying that we sent him a bad attitude I answered that they asked those who were winged because we never told them anything bad, we only told them what we expected. and that she was not going to take the order. I asked her name of her because she did not correct what she did with us she was very rude and the manager was in a very bad mood half her name. After that they sent us to another person and we took the order, we ordered a mango lemonade and three milk pancakes and my friend a stack pancakes and a coffee at last they took the order they brought it well but my friend asked if I could bring him milk for the coffee of the half and half because they took us to another one that we did not ask for, the girl returned with the cream and threw them beside the plate of the other creams whose name was Sofia. only what we want is that they speak well with DANYA because one is going to buy the food not to ask for anything for free and to receive that horrible service from DANYA. From the moment I walked in, the place was very clean, organized, and well-maintained. The tables were spotless, the restrooms in perfect condition, and overall the restaurant gave off a comfortable and welcoming vibe. As for the food, I was delighted. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and served in perfect timing. The dishes were not only nicely presented but also delicious, exceeding my expectations. You could tell there was care and attention put into every preparation. Thanks to Ericka’s recommendations, I tried options I might not have considered otherwise, and they turned out to be an excellent choice.
Another thing I really liked was the attentive yet non-intrusive service. Ericka always made sure I had everything I needed, kept my drink full, and ensured my experience was as comfortable as possible. That balance of professionalism and genuine warmth is not always easy to find, and that’s why I want to highlight it.
