I recently ordered food from Fremont Afghan Kabob through DoorDash, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food arrived in a spilled and broken to-go box, which already set a bad tone for the meal. I ordered the Sultani Kabob (triple combo), and I have several concerns. First of all, the name is misleading—Sultani is an Iranian dish and is quite different from what was served. Regarding the food itself, the Chopan Kabob was made with large chunks of beef that were undercooked and lacked flavor. The other two options I chose—lamb and beef—were disappointing as well, with only 4 small pieces provided. The rice was of poor quality and not cooked properly, which made it unappetizing. Another issue was the packaging. They mixed the salad and beans in the same box. The salad was watery, and the beans had sauce, which combined to create a soggy mess that ruined the meal. These components should be packed separately to preserve the flavors and textures. Overall, the restaurant should focus on improving the quality of their rice, ensuring it is cooked properly, and offering better meat quality and quantity to meet a reasonable standard. Better packaging practices would also go a long way in improving the customer experience. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. I hope they consider these points to improve their food and service in the future.

We are very familiar with Persian and Indian cuisine. Afghan foods share common flavors with these cultures, using herbs that bring out the best out of lamb, beef and chicken true to middle eastern flavors. Fremont Kabob serves delicious meals using halal meat that tickles your taste buds. Tonight, we started with the eggplant appetizer along side the complimentary the flat bread. My wife ordered the lamb shank stewed in a tomato garlic sauce. I opted for two kabobs (beef and lamb). Both came with white basmati rice that was cooked to perfection. Service was quick. Food was delicious and ambiance gave a cozy feel, accepting all who want a taste of Afghan delicacies. Table settings were covered with white paper adding a bit of elegance, aligning with fine dining establishment. I have to admit, I'm a cutlery snob so "cheap" cutlery is often something that tarnishes my overall dining experience. Call it a pet peeve, but straight edges hurt my hand and cheap cutlery often are stamped cut metal. Despite this, I would still return to try other dishes and perhaps bring my own cutlery to use. I highly recommend this Afghan restaurant.

The food here is fantastic, and I loved that they have tables with chairs as well as a traditional seating style available in another room, which is beautifully decorated. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the aush (a noodle, chickpea, herb soup that reminds me of ash-e reshteh, the Persian analogue of this dish), mantou (similar to Chinese dumplings but with a tomato and yogurt sauce on the top), the qabli with lamb shank, and the potato borani (we selected the spiciest level), with the jala (Afghan style sundae) for dessert. Everything was great. I had never had jala before but the individual components reminded me of kulfi ice cream and faloodeh (vermicelli with crushed ice), along with a very rich cream sauce. I really liked the cream sauce to go with the dense, rich ice cream. I'm not as much of fan of the vermicelli and ice, but that's just a personal preference. Everything was excellent, but the particular dishes I most strongly recommend are the aush, the potato borani (next time I will ask for milder), and the mantou.

01/07/2025 I called them two hours before to reserve the upper lounge location for 7 people and talked with the lady she was there and forgot her name she confirmed that she will reserve and has the spot for us then when we arrived there is no space and our space is taken by some one else. There is a young rude, mean and disrespectful guy who was serving in that day as well he said that he doesn’t remember my name then the lady told him that I have called her for this reservation as well as she told this rude guy to reserve the space which he intentionally give it to some one else Although we were on time as we told them. This young guy is very rude, disrespectful and mean when he even speaks so finally he made a table at the end of the restaurant for us which was a tiny space and we couldn’t enjoy our meal and the atmosphere. It took very long for the meal and even for simple water they were bringing one then another and at then we even didn’t have water for everybody. I will make sure none of our Afghan community and our families to come at this nasty place any more. This rude guy even rejected to give us the space even when people left the upper section lounge. I had some guest with me and I didn’t want any issues so I tried to ignore him. Not sure what kind service they provide and why they are so nasty, rude and mean to customers and they even lied to us and were mean in serving meal. They even brought us the nasty plate with utensils it was a disgrace and shame on you people and owner of this restaurant. You guys need to learn how to run a business and have good customer service if I will be the owner I will fire that young rude, mean and disrespectful guy right a way that he was serving on the evening of 01/07/2025. We are eating and paying and we are customer so we won’t come and we don’t have to eat at your nasty place with this rude guy as well. There are plenty nice restaurants and people around that we can go instead and can’t wait until all our community stop coming...

Went for Friday dinner and it was pretty crowded, but no wait time. We couldn’t get the traditional seating coz the wait time was 45 min for that. We were served with a plate of pita bread as soon as we were seated.

We were a large group and ordered quite a few dishes. For appetizer we ordered Mast-e-Khiar and Borani Badinjon and both were good.

From the kabobs we ordered Chapli kabob and Shami chicken kabob, and Korma lamb, Korma chicken and Roasted lamb from entree. The food was yummy and my favourite was the roasted lamb and chapli kabob. The korma curry tasted more of the marinara sauce taste. For dessert we ordered Firni, Jala and Afghan ice cream. Jala was a new experience and it is like the falooda.

The 3-star is not because of the food but couple of issues we had there. First of all we had to wait a lot of time for them to take the order. Secondly they brought an extra dish that we hadn’t ordered, but since we didn’t want to make an issue we got it to-go. We asked them to pack it up but they just gave us the to-go box. We hadn’t even touched the dish. Anyways the main issue was the rip-off. They added a gratuity to the bill and in addition wanted us to tip. For the tip the amount that was written as suggested amount was a percent of the total (bill + gratuity, etc), so overall...
