RACIST !!!! If you are vegan or not and another race other than Indian do not ever come here!! This place is racist!!! My Indian friends said they would never come here either! Me and my little girls came here. When we walked in there & we didn't know what to do we asked to sit and they didn't say a thing then pointed to a seat. 3 waitresses were standing by the door helping others soon they were standing there to be assistant others as they sat and took orders the lady in the middle looked to her left and asked the other lady to help us she said NO and then looked to the right and the guy did NO too!! The she had no choice to come and help us. Me and my 2 kids were looking at them the whole time, my kids said "mommy they don't want to serve us!! Clearly!! The the lady Comes over to the table, it was getting late and we hadn't eaten anything and because this was our first time there we asked what was vegan on the menu, my kids said mom she's not really smiling you see she's being fake" she made my 2 girls feel uncomfortable 😣 10 & 11 year old.. they asked me if we can leave!! We travel all Over, we go to new places all The time to eat & never had my kids say this!!! I refused to leave because we wanted Indian food( no other restaurant in Berkeley or Oakland even San Francisco in the bay we've been to never gave us this type of treatment. We ordered food and my daughters nose bleed 🩸 right away. Was the food not vegan!! It was served with the most uncomfortable feeling. People were walking in staring at us!!! My nephew owns bay area food on Instagram I will surely report this to him'!!! I told everyone in my company and we will spread the word!!! I can't believe they even had kids feeling this way what a terrible place!!!! All my Indian friends and community was informed about this place! I'm So upset this place is in the bay area where love is giving to all!! There's a lot of discrimination everywhere but we have never experienced from an Indian restaurant and in the BAYAREA! Shame on them! Don't support them! They are racist!!! WHO WOULDEVER MAKE KIDS...

By far the worst experience when it came to service in Bay area !! Their employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. From day one they lacked professionalism in taking my order. We chose onsite catering cause we thought that would be unique experience as it's more common in India but not here in Bay area. We had poor experience for the huge amount we paid.

1. The cook was the most rude. They demanded that we will provide two cooks as one cook cannot handle alone. But every time I saw them, the other cook was either standing without working or eating !!! Yes I am serious.
2. They came at 11am and I had spoken to their coordinator that I need food setup from 11:30 am. They were so late that some of my guests left without eating food. They set up slowly at their own pace at 12:15 pm.. with just starters on the table !!
3. It was our sons second birthday so we wanted to off load lot of work and food was one of them. We trusted Chaat Bhavan to provide food, serving and delivery and they did not care and behaved as though they are doing favour on us.
4. please please read Yelp reviews before choosing them on your most important occasions. I did not. There are number of reviews on how poor they are on their service and also on rudeness!!
5. The cook in the end came and asked me for payment in front of my guests even when I paid the whole amount at the beginning !! So unprofessional ! I will never recommend Chaat Bhavan to anyone. We don't just expect good food , good service is most important part of food industry. Will not recommend Chaat...

My family and I had the worst experience here. It was our first time at this restaurant and we were super excited to try the food here. we have a 1 yr old who loves Indian food as well. when we sat down the order was taken briefly and we ordered non spicy dish for our baby with some fries and ordered regular 2 entrée for my wife and I. we also ordered some plain naan and spinach naan for baby and so on. The order arrived late and when we inquired 3 times for the fries spinach naan and plain naan order they told us it is being processed. we fed the baby his non spicy dish but it was very spicy and he started coughing and asking for water. we notified the server and she apologized. 20 min later still no plain naan no spinach naan and no re do of non spicy dish for our baby and oh ya no fries. The server kept apologizing. Another person came out and told us that the printer is not working is why the mishap happened. The printer was working just fine as they had over 10 grub hub or online orders packed tagged with receipts and ready to be picked up. there were around 10 other tables with guests and none of their orders had errors and they arrived after us. To sum it all up we don’t like to post negative reviews but this needed to be shared so this location doesn’t repeat the same error and no baby should be eating dry roti dipped in water because the dish ordered was spicy.
