Ah, the Power Plant bar and Grill, where my expectations were electrified but unfortunately, my experience was rather shocking. Let me regale you with the tale of my visit, which left me feeling somewhat amperaged.
Firstly, I must admit that the kids' meals were passable, but let's be honest, $12 for a meager portion of food is a bit of a power surge on the wallet. I found myself longing for a more substantial feast to justify the expenditure.
Now, onto the infamous Cesar salad. Imagine my astonishment when I discovered that it arrived naked, bereft of dressing. And to add insult to injury, there was hardly any chicken to speak of. It seems the dressing and chicken were playing a rather intense game of hide-and-seek, and unfortunately, I was the loser in this culinary contest.
But let me enlighten you further on the seating situation. With my trusty service dog by my side, I expected to be seated promptly and comfortably. Alas, I found myself standing for a good 10 to 15 minutes before a chair finally graced my presence. Perhaps they were testing my endurance, hoping to generate a sense of achievement once I was finally seated. Or perhaps it was merely an exercise in inefficiency. In either case, it left me feeling a tad jolted.
Now, onto the club sandwich. Oh, the irony. Despite its name, it was far from a "club" I wanted to be part of. The bacon, typically a beacon of crispy delight, was inexplicably cold. It seems they were attempting to redefine the concept of "chilled out" by applying it to the sandwich itself. Unfortunately, my taste buds didn't find the experiment particularly amusing.
The bean soup, on the other hand, was quite the opposite. It was scorching hot, as if they had harnessed the power of a nuclear reactor to heat it up. I commend their dedication to warmth, but it would have been nice if they extended that effort to other dishes as well. Sadly, it stood alone as the sole source of warmth in an otherwise chilly culinary landscape.
Now, let's discuss the menu. In terms of variety, it felt like a dimmed bulb. The choices were limited, and the prices were downright shocking for the quantity and quality of the food on offer. It left me wondering if they were attempting to generate electricity from my wallet rather than satisfy my hunger.
And speaking of napkins, I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the extravagant cloth napkins and the lackluster fare they accompanied. A simple paper napkin would have sufficed, as it would have been more in line with the overall experience. Sometimes, less is more, especially when it comes to napkin-related extravagance.
Lastly, let's address the disappearing waitress act. It was as if she had stumbled into a portal to another dimension, leaving us stranded in the realm of unquenched thirst and undressed salads. We were forced to enlist the help of the host, who kindly became our beverage bearer and salad dressing deliverer. I must admit, it was quite the magical performance, but not exactly what I had in mind for a dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to the Power Plant bar and Grill left me feeling a bit powerless. While the kids' meals provided a glimmer of hope, the lackluster salad, cold club sandwich, limited menu, and disappearing waitress left much to be desired. Perhaps it's time for them to recharge their culinary skills and generate a more electrifying experience for...
Read moreCame into the restaurant with a group of 11. There was 1 table sat at that time, no one else in the restaurant. There was no one there to greet or seat us, so I walked to the bar and asked the bartender if there was someone that could assist us with getting some tables together for 11 since all the tables were for 4 people or less. He stared at me for a second and said “You’ll need to ask someone else to help you….i make drinks.” I told him there was no one at the front which is why I asked for his assistance in finding someone. He again responded “Yeah you’ll need to find someone out there to help.” I turned around and found a server finally out on the floor and asked for her help. As I was walking towards the server, the bartender looked at someone else and said “Did you see that? 11……awesome…..” I ended up piecing the tables together with the help of another adult in my group. We sat down, and our server, Sharon, took our drink order. As she was taking our drink order she asked how the checks would be split. I told her it would be myself and my 3 (pointed to my 3 children), and the other adult told her the rest would be on their check. For some reason, Sharon did not understand that the three people I was sitting by were on my check, and the rest were on the other check. She got irritated, huffed loudly and said “Jesus Christ…..” as she rolled her eyes, and walked off. Myself and the other adult both ordered a beer and a water, while the rest of the table ordered lemonade and cokes to drink. We finished our beer and the empty glass sat there for the duration of our meal. We were never asked if we wanted another or asked if we needed a water refill. She did not come by to check on our table. The food also came out cold and it was not good at all. The burgers that were ordered were cold, the chicken wings were maybe room temp, the onion rings were mushy and some were still cold in the middle where they were not cooked long enough. This was 10/10 one of the worst dining experiences of ever had and would have left the restaurant had there been anything closer to where we were that didn’t close at 8pm. The staff was extremely rude, very emotionally charged, both visually and audibly. Food was low quality. For having paid over $200 for the food, and being inside a beautiful hotel, you would expect better quality food, service, and staff. ...
Read moreThis place needs a new manager and cook. Our waitress was inattentive and rude and the food was bland. For the price of the food you would expect some flavor but there isn't much. The smash burger tasted like White Castle and the Ceasar wrap had almost no meat, mostly just lettuce and cheese. Also the fries were not great, and I had to season them myself. As for the waitress, she was slow to do anything and never really came to see if we needed anything. I would have liked to have had another drink but she never came by until we were almost done. She would just do circles around her area without talking to anybody then disappear in the back for 5-10 minutes. The only redeeming quality about this place was the host. He was friendly and kind even though he was in his 11th hour of work. He was cleaning the tables for the wait staff and seating people, and even getting drinks for customers since the horrible waitress never came to see them when they were seated. He deserves a raise while the rest of this place needs to...
