On A Roll Sushi Mexican Japanese Bar — Restaurant in Fresno

So I came to Fresno on my way to Hale the JMT and thought, "I'll be on the trail for 14 days eating freeze dried food, why not splurge and have sushi as a last meal?". I went into this not having high expectations since we're in Fresno and they're like 2 hours from the ocean. That and I'm from the Bay Area... However, this place managed to even come in below my lowered expectations. I should have known when it shared the building with a Mexican food joint, like you can literally walk between the two. But I digress, the spicy tuna was mushy and not spicy at all. It looked like straight tuna. The fish on top the rainbow roll was cut so thin it was almost transparent and they use imitation crab when their menu states real crab. Lied there! Then the sashimi was horrible. It was warm and slimy but the albacore tasted like it had been sitting out hours and started to dry and get hard (see picture). The sushi chef tried to tell me the albacore has two meats, like turkey meat... Light and dark. Then the beer was served, not cold but not warm, and the glass was just wet, not frozen. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but it ended up being a disappointing experience. The restaurant was poorly organized, with guests overcrowded at the entrance since there were no reservations or text notifications for seating, leading to a wait of over 30 minutes. While our order was taken promptly, the food took more than 35 minutes to arrive, by which time the ice in our drinks had melted. The sushi was overpriced for the quality, and the Hot Cheeto Roll I ordered was underwhelming, with stale Hot Cheetos being the biggest letdown. Additionally, I noticed cleanliness concerns, particularly the restrooms being located right next to the kitchen and where guest eat. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place and would suggest Culichi Town instead, as it offers better service, a more organized system, affordable prices, and a much cleaner...

I ordered to go. I asked the one who gave me my food if he included chop sticks and soy sauce. He said yes to both. Well I get to my office and I had ordered a 9 piece sashimi and tempura vegetables. I got only one pair of chop sticks and only ONE packet of soy sauce!! The tempura was not cooked well so it was half raw. The worst I’ve ever had. The sashimi was to come with salad and rice. I got the “salad”which was just some lettuce but I didn’t get any rice. So now I have to take off work to go back to the place and get more soy sauce and my rice. I am pissed because I paid over $36 for this food plus I tipped the guy.
