Columbus Day was zoo day for us and we decided to expedite our breakfast and coffee at this Starbucks. First impressions were that the baristas lacked personality. We had discovered that as much as first impressions go, they might be able to make that up in other areas. It kind of all went downhill after that.
My wife received her decaf Americano first (out of our orders) and she did the usual confirmation of asking that barista, “this is decaf, right?” The girls response was, “oh, I don’t know.” She steps back and looks at the ticket, then says, “it was ordered as decaf so yeah, I would’ve definitely done decaf.” Not confidence inspiring, I assure you.
Next came my hot Pumpkin Latte, which was good, and my sandwich. I came to discover my Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon Breakfast Sandwich with egg white was provided open-faced and the cheese was stuck to the inner paper wrapping. Just an FYI, I did not make this special request. Fortunately, due some wax on the inner lining, I was able to get most of it off the wrapper with some cheese lost. Better than have some paper stuck to the cheese, if we are going glass half full at this point.
Other than that, restroom was stocked up, tables had crumbs on both the interior and exterior, and it is quite spacious. I would definitely say that, though cramped, the location near Riverpark always gave warm vibes from their staff, and that type of welcome is always...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered drinks this morning. While waiting for our drinks to be ready, I needed to use the restroom. I am 8 months pregnant, and obviously very big. I really needed to go. Upon walking to the women’s restroom, I saw that it was closed for cleaning. The man cleaning responded very rudely and said it would be some time before he was done. I asked if I could use the men’s side. Again, he gave me attitude and responded very rudely saying “no, I couldn’t!”. I walked away, but a few seconds later, I couldn’t wait much longer, I was in pain and desperate to use the restroom. I tried going into the men’s restroom and he yelled at me saying I couldn’t use that restroom. I turned away because I saw that it was a one stall restroom and it was occupied. Under California law Civ. Code § 51(b) , business establishments that serve the public can not discriminate against you to use the restroom. This includes stopping you or asking for a form of ID to prove your gender. I don’t see how this differs from someone that’s transgendered trying to use the restroom from someone pregnant and in desperate need. The matter was handled very rudely and this person should not be in a position of management with such poor customer service, and not to mention their lack of empathy, or...
Read moreI don’t like leaving bad reviews, I usually only share good experiences. Nonetheless, after numerous bad occasions at this location I feel compelled to say something. Out of respect for Pearl I will be short (she’s the Star of this Starbucks location). I was late to work 3 times last week, I ordered through the app each time and put pick up through the Drivethru. 1st time there was 3 people ahead of me I waited 20 min, 2nd time same thing and the 3rd time I left for work even earlier so I can accommodate for time, I arrived and there was 2 people ahead of me as soon as I pulled in someone else came in behind me, so I couldn’t back out. I waited over 30 min. Already upset I was handed a cold drink that was supposed to be hot and cold chocolate croissant. I was still late for work and it’s literally around the corner. I just thought I would share. Also if I didn’t mention before Pearls the Star in the Starbucks logo, she’s the best this review...
