This hotel has construction, and we were only told upon check-in to expect an 'inconvenience.' ||||The noise beginning early in the morning on Monday, the second night of our stay, was absolutely unbearable, and ruined our morning on the day of preparation for a relatives funeral. Literally sounded like a jackhammer on the wall outside our room. They’re doing stonework. There's dust flying everywhere. There's loose plaster on the carpet in the elevators and the hallways. Construction workers come and go in the elevators alongside customers with all their equipment and mess and noise. There's an operating cherrypicker in the registration area of the parking lot with no safety cones. You walk out the East guest door on the first floor into a total hardhat situation with people doing stonework on ladders overhead, construction material blocking the exit, and the door is usually propped open all day. ||||I politely told the front desk that we unfortunately needed to check out 2 days early due to the noise, and requested a late checkout to 3pm because we had appointments at the church, and funeral home, and hadn't planned to have to change hotels today. Note that I'm a platinum member, and didn't expect this to be an issue whatsoever given the unusual circumstances.||||I was denied, and asked for the manager, who promptly flatly denied my request with literally the rudest most uncaring expression and flat tone possible. I reinstated my request and attempted to explain my situation, and the manager admitted that the hotel was not booked (obviously because my room was already spoken for for 2 more nights), but still, she flatly denied me. She finally told me it was because the hotel could experience 'loss of revenue.' ||||So I'm here to tell you that if revenue is more important than customer experience or showing compassion to a customer you placed in a difficult situation, I will no longer be staying at La Quinta. I'll certainly never step foot in this one again, in a town I visit every month. And I’ll be demanding a full refund from La Quinta Platinum Customer Service, let’s see where that gets me. ||||I also recommend anyone else over the next few months seriously reconsider. I don't care about your loss of revenue. Close this place, finish it up, and reopen. With a new manager. There are several really nice hotels with similar rates in the...
Read morePros: Great location and friendly and efficient staff. The room was recently remodeled and had that “new” clean smell. The AC worked well to keep the room cool. The bed was extremely comfortable, and in conjunction with the blackout curtains it enabled me to have a fabulous night’s sleep. As others have mentioned, the breakfast buffet is very good, and includes scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, cereals, pastries, bagels and some fruits. They also have a waffle iron that makes delicious waffles. The coffee is excellent. Parking was convenient and we were able to park near the front door.||Cons: Remember how I mentioned there was a “new construction smell?” Well that is because they are undergoing an extensive renovation. Hallways and the elevator were quite warm because the doors all were left open and construction dust was all over the ground floor. Our car even had small chips of construction dust on it. The pool was closed. They have notices posted that construction is taking place during business hours. I didn’t know business hours begin at 8 am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. While I had one of the best sleeps I’ve had in years, it was construction noise that woke me. The ice machines on the third and fourth floors were not working. The second floor is closed for construction, so the only ice machine is one the first floor. I wondered if any ice would be left after a construction worker filled up a big bucket just ahead of me, but there was enough for my modest need. I wonder if the rate we paid had any discount for the inconvenience of construction? We were not told anything about the construction when we booked. They are expecting the remodel to be complete by...
Read moreThis hotel could have 5 stars rating if the followings are addressed.|We stayed on the third floor in a handicap room. We appreciated our request was granted when booking the room. Room # 311 faced the elevator so there were some noises when people passing by. Luckily, we were there on a slow day so we were not bothered much. |*Water pressure was much weaker compared to the first floor. The water temperature most of the time was warm or lukewarm. Unless you used it at 6am then it was better - but never hot.|+Stains on the bedsheet. It was right under the pillows.|+Breakfast was average with two hot items and an oatmeal pot. The oatmeal was better on the first day. Too thick on the second day. The service was much slower. The attendant didn't know they had non sugar syrup on hand. I used it the day before and pointed out to her. The utensils was not restocked. Overall, the attendant must be a new person or trainee since her performance was completely different compared to the other lady the day before.|+ the bathtub was too long and slippery. They should put a mat in there since the glued- in mat already worn out. I could not enjoy my bath since I was scared.||What we liked about this hotel:|+location is excellent. There were so many good hotels on the same street. Just in our corner, there were 3 hotels next to each other.|+cleanliness. The room was spotless. The carpet looked new. Everything functioned well. The refrigerator was not very cold even at max temperature setting.|+lay out of the room for the handicap...
