The Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Fresno

We ordered the (1) Buffalo Chicken Fries (combo, comes with a drink) the (2) Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese, the (3) Bacon Chicken Ranch (grilled, chipotle tortilla) snack wrap, and the (4) small chili. Today I found out or am reminded that we're either not a big fan of buffalo sauce, or the $50.00 food we ordered here wasn't that good afterall... so perhaps, while this review might be slightly unfair or biased in the matter that we're not huge buffalo sauce fans and should or could have ordered with a different sauce, I can say we won't be coming back to this franchise for some time.

The Buffalo Chicken Fries, the fries themselves were salty, which were good for me as I like my food a bit extra seasoned on salt, but my lady didn't like it as it was a bit overly salted for her. What really did it for the both of us was the buffalo sauce was so empowering we couldn't eat much of it, especially as we got to the bottom of the tray where the extra sauce laid.

The Buffalo Mac and Cheese had the same taste as the Buffalo Chicken Fries. I understand we probably should have realized the "Buffalo" in front of the item order meant they tasted similar, but man this taste wasn't very appealing. Again, maybe it's just me/us, not being fans of the buffalo sauce.

The chili and the grilled chicken chipotle tortilla snack wrap ended up being the most tasteful thing we ordered... and both were a fair 3.5 at best. The missus says the wrap was dry. Personally I thought it was fine, not good, but fine. We both agreed the chili was pretty decent.

All in all, we had to take a little bit of everything, a bite here and there, so the Buffalo wasn't overwhelming as a flavor. We were almost glad the snack wrap tasted the way it did to offset the Buffalo flavor. I have seen and heard folks say this (food) was a hit or miss... I can see what they mean now in a few ways. We ended up tossing half our $50 meal away (picture added) and still politely thanked the staff (who was busy cleaning and didn't fully acknowledge us on the way out, which is fine, but wanted to note that) on our way out.

If we ever come back, we'll order with a different sauce as seen on the menu or try different items, definitely not a $50 meal order, and will edit/update or write a new...

I don't always write reviews but when I do it's because I get exemplary service that deserves to be called out on. Or the opposite In this case it's absolutely amazing service.I placed an order with DoorDash for a five-piece chicken finger but then I needed to add a three-piece chicken finger combo on there too I recently had an issue at work where I had a slight injury to my eye and my visibility was limited so when I went to try and fix the order I instead ended up submitting a second order upon calling in to let them know what the situation was to try to make sure that both orders were together and what not so when my wife got there to pick it up it would be easy to do they advised me to go ahead and call and cancel the order with DoorDash authorizing refunds for that as well so that we could just go ahead and add it to the original order so that it would be more affordable for us. DoorDash refused to refund us until we had spoken with the Chicken shack and they called their district manager and authorized a refund on both orders. This was absolutely one step and then some beyond what was even hoped for and the effort to make sure their customers were satisfied after such a confusing situation was absolutely amazing and very much appreciated. They went above and beyond by contacting the district manager and then even authorizing refunds on both of our orders and I don't think I need to mention how good the food is I think we all know the Chicken shack makes dang good chicken. I just wanted to make sure that they got a review thanking them for the effort that they put into help me...

Some days the food here is great, and other times it's bland and chewy. But the reason for 1 star is that one employee in particular is ALWAYS rude. I believe her name is Adriana, but she is rude and aggressive. One visit here we asked for chilli cheese fries she cut off the other girl who was serving us and told us they don't serve them, even though the menu had it listed as an item, even the other girl serving us looked confused. She went to the back to ask another employee, came back and just said 'oh I didn't know, I guess we do' and just walked away, without even apologizing for coming off so aggressive. Another visit I picked up my food and got home and realized I had food missing, I called to inform them and asked if I could come another time for replacement, as I was using my lunch break to pick up food, she told me 'well you can come now and we can replace but if not I really don't know what to tell you'. After I reiterated I was using my lunch break she said I could come in another day for them to replace my food, but that I only had one week to do so. This location is closer than the one on Herndon, but I'd rather drive a bit further to have better service. I'm done dealing with this employee, every one has bad days, but this girl...
