UPDATE Dec 2023: OK, we are back in less than a year. At least at this location. We ate earlier this month at the Dallas location and so I ordered the Naughty Santa special again. Yummy. Lots of friends and families out for last lunch of 2023; see photos. We got great bargain with free queso and chips for having the app. Plenty of queso and chips so brought them home as leftovers. UPDATE Jul 2023: WOW, been just over a year since visit to this location. There are others in county we have eaten at in last year along with lots of healthy competition in tacos. We got fast and prompt service. I took some new photos of the hungry weekday lunch crowd. BTW: if you drive around back you can find a parking spot in shade, only 100 deg today.UPDATE Jul 2022: We enjoyed their monthly special featuring a 4th of July theme. We got there early before 1pm on Sun and beat the crowd. Lots of friends and family showed up about 1pm. At one point the line went from the cashier back to front door. But if you know what you want the line can move fast. They cleared the tables fast after a party left so seating was available soonest. BTW: and we found a parking spot in the shade lucky us.UPDATE Oct 2021: Back for a refill. Again well done. I enjoyed this month's special. See photo. Lots of friends and families there for Sat lunch. Staff was responsive when I mentioned that the beverage machine needed ice. They got it refilled right away. June 2021 WOW! The newest TT in Collin County did a bang up job in location (to us) and layout of restaurant. We waited until the big rush was over for new opening but a weekday summer lunch hour was packed. Very popular with friends and families. While there was a line when we got there order taking was fast and we got an open table inside. Our queso dip was served right away and the meal came very fast. As a new restaurant they weren't ready to serve the monthly special BUT the next day they would be able to provide. I took lots of interior photos to show you many hungry folks enjoying great tasting tacos. We have eaten at the others in Collin county and one in Dallas county. They are all great places to eat with...
Read moreBartender was too busy telling the only person sitting at the bar about getting promoted to make anyone else drinks. We ordered 4 tacos (2 each) a bowl of queso, a house margarita and a ranch water. We were handed a buzzer and told our drinks would be brought out to us. We were delivered our food about 10 minutes later and the waiter took our buzzer. Not his fault, we told him we were still waiting on our drinks from the bar and asked he leave it. After munching on the chips and queso my girlfriend went to ask the bartender about our drinks and could not get her attention as she was busy talking to the only other person sitting at the bar. Not a big deal, but after 5 minutes of being neglected went and asked the cashier for a water cup and if she could just pick up our drinks and take them to our table. She was told they would be brought out and the cashier rolled her eyes. We ended up finishing our tacos and queso and never got our drinks. As we were leaving I took our buzzer to the bartender who told me to hold on. She was making a drink so that’s fine, I politely waited for her to finish. Once she did, she saw I was holding my buzzer and before I could speak she asked me if I wanted to speak to a manager. I just explained I’d like to be refunded for our drinks as we’d finished our food without them and were ready to leave. She went and got a manager. Fine with that, a little annoyed at this point but the manager told me to let him see my card and he would refund me, it would take 24 hours and he was sorry. He seemed genuine, the cashier and bar tender both seemed annoyed at being expected to do their jobs. Still haven’t been refunded and the payment has been processed on my credit card. Paid $65 after tip for 4 tacos, queso and attitude instead of drinks. Price was worth the lesson we should have just gone down the...
Read moreIf you’re in the mood for bold, indulgent tacos, Torchy’s Tacos in Frisco, Texas, is the place to be. I stopped in during the lunch rush, and the place was absolutely packed. Instead of waiting in the long line, I grabbed a seat at the bar, which turned out to be a great move—quicker service and no hassle.
What I Ordered:
I went with two of Torchy’s popular tacos: • Trailer Park - Trashy: This taco is already loaded with crispy fried chicken, green chiles, pico de gallo, and mixed cheese, but ordering it Trashy replaces the lettuce with their signature queso. The result? Cheesy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The poblano sauce added a creamy, slightly smoky kick that complemented the crispy chicken perfectly. • The Republican: A completely different vibe—smoked brisket, crispy onions, grilled corn relish, barbecue sauce, and chipotle sauce on a flour tortilla. The brisket was tender and flavorful, with the BBQ sauce adding a subtle sweetness. The crispy onions and corn relish gave it some nice texture and contrast.
Experience & Takeaways: • The food lived up to the hype—well-seasoned, well-constructed tacos with plenty of flavor. • Sitting at the bar was a pro move—if you want to avoid the lines, this is the way to go. • The lunch rush is real—expect a crowd, but the service is efficient, and the food is worth it.
Final Verdict:
Torchy’s delivers on big flavors, great textures, and quality ingredients. Whether you go for the indulgent Trailer Park - Trashy or the smoky, Tex-Mex-inspired Republican, you really can’t go wrong. Highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar for a...
