Melania's Gourmet — Restaurant in Front Royal

They weren’t kidding when they said there are no wrong options at Melania’s Gourmet Bakery—everything we tried was absolutely delicious!

The bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was exceptional. The biscuit practically melted in your mouth, and the ratio of bacon to egg to cheese was spot on—perfectly balanced and satisfying. We also ordered the cinnamon roll, which was just right—not overly sweet or overwhelmingly cinnamony. The cream cheese frosting was everything, especially warmed up and melting into the roll… pure heaven.

We also tried the Kickin’ Chicken sandwich—pulled chicken with sweet pickles—which was a fantastic savory option. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something hearty and flavorful.

To drink, we had a Turkish latte, lavender Italian soda, and a vanilla cappuccino—all A+. The drinks were thoughtfully crafted and complemented our meal perfectly.

We grabbed a few treats to go: the Key lime tart (so good—bright, tangy, and fresh) and the Caramel Mocha Stairway Brownie. The brownie had more of a sponge cake texture, which wasn’t quite what we expected and not our favorite item, but it was still tasty.

All in all, this place is a gem. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and truly great food and drinks. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Front Royal—and if you’re in town, you...

Melania's Gourmet is a hidden gem in the Shenandoah Valley! We live in Front Royal and are lucky to have it right at our doorstep. The pastries, baked goods and savory sandwiches are all made with so much care and love and are absolutely delicious. There's a great variety of items to pick from and Melania also comes up with new seasonal recipes so there is always something new to try! They now have espresso drinks and regular coffee with beans from Costa Rica and homemade syrups. Some of the best coffee I've ever had. The atmosphere is so cozy and bohemian; the staff some of the friendliest people. They usually close for a few weeks in January (and good for them because Melania and her husband work so hard!), but they recently expanded their shop hours! I'm looking forward to them opening back up though because I need my coffee fix! We've also placed special large pick-up orders with Melania's to provide desserts for private occasions and our guests are always blown away at how delicious everything is! My recommendation is the lemon tart or the chocolate silk bar, but everything is phenomenal. This is one of those places you want to drive out...

i always passed this place whilst driving through front royal, wanting to stop, but never having time. the day before thanksgiving, i needed a boost, so we planned a little outing to finally give it a go.

it looked lovely from the outside and the menu on the website looked promising, but once we actually stepped inside, this place far exceeded my already high expectations. the atmosphere was so homey and welcoming. even though they were busy the day before a major holiday all of the staff were so strikingly kind, as well as patient whilst i fumbled through my order (everything looked so good, i kept changing my mind!).

i wound up having a croissant with brie and cranberry and it was so, so, SO good. my pumpkin spice decaf latte was lovely, also. my partner also enjoyed the fare (hot chocolate, and a rosemary grilled cheese) and couldn’t stop commenting to me about how nice everything and everyone was. you can really feel the love and care in every inch of this place. it was just what we needed before braving a fraught thanksgiving with the extended family, haha.
