I'm totally digging this place. So much flavor explosions!
We came here for our low-key Valentine's Day dinner and have been back 2x again since then. 3 trips in less than a month? Not bad!
I really like the intimate ambiance and the hospitality of the workers. There's just this good vibe overall. :)
Here's what we ate the 3 trips:
AVGOLEMONO- Lemon chicken soup, $4 = Meh. I would skip this and go for the spreads.
MELITZANOSALATA- Eggplant Spread, $5 = YUM. My favorite spread so far. And unlimited crusty bread. Rawr.
TARAMOSALATA- Carp roe spread, $5 = Hmm quite strong. Fries dipped in this were quite good, but overall too heavy of a taste since it is mashed up fish eggs.
MANOURI- Flatbread, arugula, honey, figs $10 = How can you go wrong with honey and figs and cheese!? Lovely, lovely taste. Can get a little sweet at the end with all the honey. But still lovely!
LOUKANIKO- Flatbread, sausage, feta, capers $12 = Excellent flatbread. This got consumed quickly.
CHICKEN Pita- $8 = A little dry. But the fries were excellent. Skip the Chicken and get the LAMB.
LAMB Pita $9 = Super tender, almost tasted like carnitas, loved the slight kick in the rosemary dijon. Yummm! A very generous portion of awesome fries too!
HORTA- Dandelion greens $5 = This just sounded soo interesting. Eating DANDELIONS STALKS? I don't know if that was really true but I needed some veggies. It has a slight bitter aftertaste though but still good.
LOUKOUMADES (GREEK BEIGNETS) $6 = I don't care for real beignets anymore after eating this version! Mini versions drizzled with honey served next to vanilla bean ice cream. Mmmm!!

Read moreWe live in Downtown Fullerton yet had never tried Kento until Saturday. Man have we been missing out. First off the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. You order when you walk in then seat yourself to wait for your food. Our food came out very quickly. My daughter and I gave it a try so we decided to share some items. We had the Horiatiki salad which was so fresh and flavorful. It seems so simple but there is something they add that just makes it so delicious. It comes with bread and you dip it in the sauce, it's just devine. We had the garlic type fries which were good. Enough to share for a table of 4. The flat bread we decided on was the Manouri and it was pretty sweet with the figs but also delicious. I would definitely want to try something different next time but only because their menu has so much to offer. We also had a side of the tzatziki and definitely one of the best I've had. I didn't see it on menu but they offer a trio of spreads and that will definitely be within our next order. We decided for dessert to try the greek yogurt with the baklava and the Loukoumades..OK LOOK NO FURTHER than the Loukoumades. They are so delicious, the honey syrup, the vanilla bean ice cream. Wow so good. We weren't a fan of the greek frozen yogurt but that was just a taste preference nothing they did wrong on their end. This place is top notch. I can't wait to go back. Also my daughter says you can get the salad with chicken as an...
Read moreA mix of casual dining and sit-down restaurant atmosphere but the food was definitely sit-down dining level. My family dined there recently. We had the calamari, vegetable flatbread, zucchini chips, souvlaki, and psari sti skata (pan fried swordfish). Everything was delicious but I didn't care for the fish dish.
The calamari and zucchini chips were my favorite. The former was served in a dish of delicate marinara sauce. I usually am critical of tomato sauces that are too acidic but this had a creamy tomato taste. I wish there was lots so i could spoon it over the flatbread for even more flavors.
The zucchini chips presentation was elegant. These were thinly sliced, lightly breaded and fried. They weren't greasy and the zucchini didn't overwhelm the taste (I am a big fan of zucchini so that would not have been a negative).
The souvlaki came with a side of very delicious rice. My son really liked the chicken.
Again, my least favorite was the swordfish dish. It was breaded and pan fried without much seasoning so the fish had to be fresh. I also wasn't crazy about the 'starch' side for this dish which was corn.
Anyhow overall the meal was delicious. My son remarked that he definitely wanted to go back. Now he has recently become a LA restaurant snob since starting college there, so this is a...
