I had the misfortune of visiting this establishment with some friends, including Mexican individuals. Our experience was marred by blatant racism and appalling behavior from one particular bartender.
From the moment we walked in, it was evident that we were not welcome. The atmosphere was tense, and the stares we received from both patrons and staff alike were unwelcoming. However, it was the bartender, an overweight blonde woman, who took it upon herself to make our experience truly unpleasant.
Not only did she ignore us for an unreasonable amount of time, but when she finally deigned to serve us, her attitude was disgustingly discriminatory. She made derogatory comments about my Mexican friends, assuming they couldn't understand English, and even went as far as to mimic their accents in a mocking manner.
Her behavior was not only unprofessional but downright despicable. It's incomprehensible how someone in the service industry, whose job is to provide hospitality, could harbor such hateful attitudes. It's clear that this establishment lacks any semblance of diversity and inclusivity.
I urge anyone considering visiting this bar to think twice. Supporting businesses that condone and perpetuate racism is unconscionable. There are plenty of other establishments in the area where you can enjoy a drink without being subjected to such...
Read moreThe Fullerton Family YMCA held a fundraiser here, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Y, which was totally awesome of them!
The pizza was great, and even my picky husband from Brooklyn said it has a good flavor.
He got the personal pizza for $12 & it was worth every penny!
I recommend the on tap Bare Knuckle Blond beer. I usually drink Coors Light or Bud Light (I know some of you are going 'ptooie') but hey, it's what I like.). It was really good. So good that I had 2, they were that good.
Barry said his “Get Up Offa That Brown” had a very good taste as well. Also on tap.
Victor behind the bar was very on top of everything! The service was great, and the pizzas for the YMCA’s fundraiser were totally scarfed down really quickly.
Lots of sports on lots of TVs & you can also make reservations for a front room or some of the other tables.
It’s decorated very colorfully with all sorts of old signs & lights around. It’d be perfect for a party of 20-25. I've posted some pics on Yelp showing the ambiance of the place when it's not crowded (we were there early-early)
There are games that kids can do as well.
My husband was eyeing the dart game for awhile.
Sorry I don’t have pics of the food-it was scarfed up too quickly!

Read moreMy bf and I are avid hot pepper consumers. We were looking for a restaurant nearby Fullerton with super spicy chicken wings. We ended up finding a link through a forum to Bowery's wings menu with the listing "Wings of Fire". Now, curious as to which peppers were in it (because most places use habanero as the hottest [boo]), they also mentioned on the menu that they use ghost peppers in the sauce, and in a small font underneath there was an asterisk that said "*ask about our challenge wings". We were sold, and immediately came over to Bowery! Ordered the challenge wings. The cashier looked us dead in the face and asked us, "Are you sure??" Lol, that's what I like to hear! $17 for 6 wings is a bit steep, but it was only $3 more than the other wings. I assume it goes into a respirator and full jumpsuit for the person applying the heat in the kitchen. Flavor was on-point. Tangy, semi-sweet, kinda Caribbean, and packed full of face-melting heat (9/10). We had to use separate napkins for our hands and our faces. I ended up getting Kardashian lips after the second wing. The burn took about 10 minutes to begin to fade. About an hour after, we had to break out the antacids. Definately...
