Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Fultondale

Recent visit, 3 adults, one teenager. The only good that is getting 2 stars is the server. The remainder, however, isn't even worth one. Starting off with about 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and get "someone will be with you" I can get over. Places are short staffed, I get it. After about another 10 minutes we were lead to a table, which I'm glad it was with family because even with feet all the way against the booth you're still touching knees with the person across from you. Our server was doing her best to stay on top of the many tables she had and she remained polite and courteous throughout the entire time. The food was another story. From order being placed to the meal that ordered a salad 17 minutes. The teenager ordered an appetizer, as well as myself. The other two in the group ordered the same meal. 9 minutes after the salad arrived the two entrees and the teenager's appetizer came. The two entrees received very cold and unfit to eat fries, and one entree main course was also cold. The server apologized and brought replacement fries and took the entree back to the kitchen to be reheated. I'm still waiting. The reheated entree was brought out and was acceptable (obviously microwaved because it was dried out and missing the piece that was eaten prior), I'm still waiting. Another 20 minutes and the rest of my party has finished (one was nearly finished) before my appetizer finally arrived (classic combo) the boneless wings were unfit to eat, the spinach dip was barely warm but edible, the cheese sticks were greasy as well as the quesidilla but again edible. The 2 times I been here have both been awful. 1st was takeout, I ordered a rack of ribs and let them know I was there, and waited in the parking lot for 40mins before I went in to see what the hold up was. They said they forgot all about me. I was furious! I had just gotten off a hard day of work and was really looking forward to ribs.

2nd time was just a little bit ago with the 3 plates for 10.99. There's no reason to sit at a table if it's just 1 person. As well as there's no reason for a big whole group to sit at the bar when the place is almost empty otherwise and the staff can put tables together. Went in to sit at the bar and only 2 seats open. Turns out the local VFW group was all sitting at the bar being loud and obnoxious. The 21yr old sitting next to me was jumping in and out of his seat and standing on that foot bar spraying food all over the bar and my food yelling stuff to his friend across the bar.

With AB letting these big groups sit at the bar instead of asking if they sit at tables put together keeps individuals from sitting at the bar. I almost walked out. I shoulda walked out. News hint AB, if big groups come in put tables.

On top of that the chicken fingers were the smallest driest fingers I've ever seen. This is one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Stay away like the plague. I gave the bartender 2 stars do to her being super busy cause of the VFW. Don't know if it woulda been any better otherwise. Further more, if the big groups sit at tables the servers will be better sense AB can assign multiple servers to the tables. Not so at a bar. I know, I used to be a server at multiple...

My family and I went to Applebee's on Mother's Day. Can't remember what the waiter's name was, but I'm thinking the Zack or something like that. He was okay when we sat down at the table we told him that we were ready to order even the appetizers he proceeded and taking our order when he finished we thought that he was going to place our order. Tell us a large family sitting next to us that was white he went over to finish taking their orders Place their orders in the system before he placed our order. They got their food first it took a minute for our food to come out probably about 20 minutes or so after they receive their food. Whenever he came around to check on us there was no happiness in his tone or you know professionalism and this time when asking if we needed anything else but remind you he was there taking photos of the other family that was sitting next to us with their cell phone catering to their every needs. This was the worst experience that I have ever experienced at this Applebee's and not sure if I will be returning I was just very displeased with the service that my family and I are received from this waiter. For me it is still crazy that you can treat people still the way that things used to be treated not sure if he really meant it but that's the way that it we took it the food wasn't bad it was just a service that we received here at Applebee's in Fultondale from this one server.
