If I could give 0 stars I would. We had the worst experience that anyone in our party had ever had... at any restaurant ever. When we arrived we were told the wait was 45 minutes for our party of 10 people (2 of which were toddlers). We were ok with this and decided to put our name on the list.
We had to wait outside because the front desk area was packed. After 30 minutes outside, it had finally cleared out enough that we could come inside the building. Turns out it cleared out because a party of 7 in line ahead of us left after waiting for almost an hour to be seated. After another 20 minutes of waiting inside, we noticed 8-10 tables (which had no one sitting at them) still had left over food, drinks, plates, etc on them and needed to be cleared.
When we asked what needed to be done to get tables cleared so that we could be seated, the hostess (after finally looking up from her phone) stated that it wasn't her job and that the waiters bussed their own tables. She did not offer to help, tell the waiters that there was a party of 10 waiting to be seated, etc. She just stood there looking like a lost puppy and playing on her phone.
Finally, I had enough and went to one of the larger tables and started clearing it myself. My wife said that the hostess watched me clear the table for several minutes before finally telling someone that a customer was clearing a table for his party. As I was clearing table, multiple waiters walked passed me and never even offered to help. As I was finishing, a manager (wearing a black shirt and baseball cap) came up to me and said "Thanks for helping us, we will take it from here." I went to wash my hands and three minutes later we were finally seated. But then I had to beg borrow and plead for a high chair for our one year old.
After we were seated, we saw and heard many things which made us further question why we had just waited nearly an hour and still wanted to eat here. One of the most disturbing things we saw was a manager/waitress in a light blue shirt pop pimples on her face in front of the mirror on the wall just inside the kitchen (completely disgusting). After she finished cruding her face, she picked up some plates of food and delivered them to a table (never even washed her hands). I'm pretty sure this is not ServSafe approved).
While watching this pimple popping extravaganza, our soon to be waitress (Trusha??? Possibly?) told a table behind us that she normally works the To Go counter and that she was breaking a sweat tonight and that ain't even in her job description. Apparently this table's ticket was messed up and the waitress proceeded to tell them that she couldn't fix it and they split the check among the party.
The above all happened within 5 minutes of us sitting down at the table. 5 minutes after this (10 total minutes of us sitting at the table) the waitress finally came to take our drink orders. While in the middle of taking our drink order the waitress abandoned our table and began talking to the table with the messed up ticket again.
When she finally returned to finish our drink order she proceeded to tell my uncle that we would have to order on the table kiosk (no reason was given). The kiosk didn't even work. After this we finally decided that we had had enough and we left. We told the waitress to cancel our drink orders and that we were not willing to wait another hour to get food and drinks. When the waitress told the manager (the same one who took over for me while I was bussing their tables) why we were leaving he copped an attitude and said that were being unreasonable and that we hadn't really been waiting for an hour.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6:02 pm. We left at 7:07 pm without ever being served anything. We will never come back to this place. I'm surprised it is still in business if this is their normal operating procedure. At the end of it all, we decided to go to Chik Fil A where we had an excellent experience and great food. Probably should have gone there in the...
Read moreMy sister and I had dinner there this weekend and we had such an awful experience. For starters, my sister’s order was wrong. They had given her a completely different burger than the one she had requested. Even after they had given her the “right order”, many things were wrong. She had requested no onions and it had onions. She had also requested bell peppers added to the burger and there were none. This was not really were the problem was. Once we had finished our meals, my sister used the machine at our table to pay the tab. It was then when she noticed she was overcharged for the tip. Our order was $61 and she had put in the option for 18% tip which would’ve been roughly $11. Somehow, they had charged $15 and some cents. We let the waitress know and she stated my sister must’ve pressed the wrong option. We did the math and even at 20% or 25%, the tipping amount wouldn’t have added up. The waitress then stated there was nothing she could do about it and seemed very upset/rude. We then asked her if there’s a refund we could have for the additional charge or a gift card to equal out the amount, but she stated there wasn’t. We asked to speak to the manager because it was not fair to be charged extra. It’s not like we were not going to tip her. We just wanted to know why the math was incorrect when tipping. The waitress then came back (without the manager) and told my sister to run her card again and press the 18%. According to her, the manager was on the phone with IT canceling the initial transaction. Again, the math was wrong and it was overcharging. The waitress then grabbed the machine and put in the option for personalized tip. We tried explaining to her that we were not upset about tipping, we were upset at how customers are getting charged extra. We let her know it’s not fair for the customers. We then asked to speak to the manager again, but no one ever came. The waitress said they had to get with IT to cancel the first initial transaction, but that we shouldn’t get charged for it. It was very upsetting that the manager couldn’t bother to go to our table to speak to us. Fast forward to today.. both charges had gone through. My sister called and let them know about this. The people at Chili’s stated it should still be pending, though the money had already been removed from my sister’s card. They stated they would have the manager call once they’re in. They eventually called my sister and stated they couldn’t find the transaction and to explain exactly what happened 🤦🏻♀️ we are now pending a phone call to see if they do find the initial transaction that was over $70 🤦🏻♀️ Update: The manager stated they couldn’t find the initial transaction and told my sister they couldn’t do anything about it and that she had to dispute it with her bank. This is such horrible customer service!!!!! Now my sister’s card is frozen because she realized that Chili’s overcharges tips! There was no attempt from the manager to correct the situation. Not even an apology or a “sorry for your inconvenience”.
Customers definitely need to beware and make sure they’re not being...
Read moreWent to Chili's in Gadsden to enjoy sitting out on the patio with some friends. None of us enjoyed it at all. Waitress told us items were half price an then said that happy hour was over. O.k. we all make mistakes. I ask if there were any drinks offered other than what menu showed because I personally hate margaritas. She told me only two items. Watermelon margarita and a watermelon cooler. I ordered the cooler which tasted like crap by the way. Next person to order ask if she could get a daiquiri an waitress replied sure. What did I just ask? Daiquiri's were not on the menu. Another person ask for honey wings and received buffalo wings. She was told she had ordered buffalo wings and everyone at the table heard honey. This friend did not appreciate being called a liar so waitress did not get a tip from her. Another person ordered a dish that has a special lime sauce. It was left off of her order and waitress did not even know the menu enough to understand what sauce she was talking about. We would probably still be waiting for her to take our order if I had not ask her to do so in the first place. When I got down the road I realized that my bill had to be wrong. I only ordered $11.99 in food an my bill was right at $22.00. Was that nasty drink $8.00? Surely not! My friend had two drinks for $7.00. I was stupid enough to leave a $5.00 tip. NEVER AGAIN! I will just have to find another place that seats outside. Most of my friends were from out of town so I was embarrassed that Gadsden treated them so poorly. Wake up...
