Jack's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Gadsden

This is specifically a review of THIS LOCATION. I drive past two different, closer jacks to get to this location because ive been burned at the two other locations. This location's employees are the most amazing employees, kind, attentive and always bring you hot food. Today, I ordered two orders of two chicken wraps, one with tomatoes, and one without. THEY MAKRKED A STAR ON THE ONES WITHOUT TOMATOES AND I DAMN NEAR CRIED. As someone with allergies, ive had full service restaurants bring my allergen within a few inches of me before i had to tell them to get it away from me. Now, thankfully this wasn't an allergy issue, it was only a request (and was phrased as such) but they STILL went above and beyond and that kindness is so amazing. Also, i recognized another employee who i had an amazing experience with a few visits ago (actually why i switched to this location) So this is the review about that time. I was having a horrible day, month, year. My mom was hospitalized with cancer and this jacks is on the way to the hospital. So i pull up and order something, but the cashier had medium size box braids, with purple highlights. For reference I also have purple Highlights, So i complemented her hair and she said thank you, and we bonded over our mutually purple hair, and I know thats dumb but it was just so nice that she took time out of her day to chat with me and had a much better outlook going into the hospital because of her. My girlfriend and I went out to get some chicken tenders. The woman working the drive thru explained the combinations (dinner, snack, combo) pretty well. We asked for two sweet teas with lemon, but we were told they were out of lemons. When we picked out our sauces (ranch and comeback), we were told that they were also out of ranch. We chose honey mustard instead and were asked to pull to the window. Once we had paid and gotten the drinks, we were told that they were also out of honey mustard. She asked if we were OK with only comeback sauce. My girlfriend said okay.

The sweet teas weren't the best but weren't sour. It was just a little plain and lacking flavor. My girlfriend's drink was filled about two inches from full, but mine was full. She was dissatisfied with the portion size of her order. I could see why. My own portions were similar. Due to some of the tenders being small, I received four tenders instead. We also had to share sauces because four of our two identical orders of three piece chicken tender combos, we only got three sauces. I would like to imagine that two orders should get an equal amount of sauces.

First time visitor. Ordered burger and fries along with a peach shake and scoop of cherry pie ice cream. Ate inside the dining area. I must say the presentation of the burgers in particular was top notch. They appeared to be careful assembled and weren't crushed or falling apart. The burger patties were seasoned well and definitely one of the better tasting overall within the fast food segment. Delicious bun. Fries were well seasoned and had a nice texture and taste. Overall very pleased with food taste and quality, again especially within fast food segment. Great variety of options too on menu. Reasons for taking away a star and only giving 4/5...there were a LOT of flies or nats sitting on the walls and windows and flying around. Several dozen just around our table...somewhat of a nuisance. The ice was broken or depleted, tea and lemonade also out. Seemed as if a team member responsible for maintaining dining area neglected it. Staff behind counter was super friendly though and was able to get drinks by asking there instead. Just seemed like overall cleanliness and attention in the dining area was lacking in contrast to the delicious food. Would definitely still recommend, especially if you've never tried it. Maybe just order via drive...
