Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Gainesville

I've been trying to support local/small businesses and I find Scooters is a decent alternative to StarB. I absolutely love the customer service; the staff are so sweet and nice. It almost makes me feel bad for what I'm about to say:

I am just not a fan of their coffee or food. I really wanted to like it but if I had one critique I'd say is they really need to learn how to balance their flavors. I've tried their Chai latte: it was way too sweet and had a LOT of chai mix. The second time I came back and asked for less mix more milk it was perfect. I ordered the Peanut Butter crunch twice. I was told it was supposed to taste like Butterfingers but I tasted nothing but coffee. I do like strong coffee but I really wanted other flavors too. I even ordered extra drizzle and peanut butter and it was just COFFEE.

The everything bagel I had today was good BUT all those good flavors were overpowered by PEPPER. I'm not sure if this is an issue of someone not knowing how to mix the drinks or prep the food or if it's just how Scooters operates.

I've come to accept that Scooters is probably not meant for me and that's ok. If they read this review they can take my critique or leave it. I wish them well regardless bc they are a nice business and they...

They would not honor the buy one, get one free drink promotion (bring a bestie event) on their mobile app that was done on 8/21/23. As promoted, I purchased my drink on the app expecting to get the free one on arrival. When I asked for the free drink the cashier said that they couldn’t honor the request. She stated that, since I had already paid online (mobile app) then they can’t go back and add the free drink to the tab. (I don’t see why a free drink needs to be added to a tab but ok) The promotion literally says that if I buy a drink using the app then I should get a free one as well. When I asked if there was anything they could do, the cashier stated that the only way that they would honor it is if I purchased two more drinks. I DIDNT NEED THREE DRINKS!!! In the end, the cashier continued to be unreasonable and wouldn’t honor the promotion that they themselves advertised and I had to pay for the additional drink that I shouldn’t have had to. I don’t think I will ever go back since they cannot honor...

When scooters first opened I was loving it. Every time I got a drink it was consistent. Over my last few visits, I’ve been paying hoping it comes out well. Today was my last visit. I even got the courage to go and ask for a refund, I was told I have to call the company for that or they can make another drink. But considering the drink I had just gotten, I didn’t want them to make another one. Only to leave and realize they didn’t even give me a receipt. I called to ask for my receipt number and no one picked up I originally bought two drinks but my friend was too nice to want to return hers, hers was also blah. I had originally raved about scooters but I take it back, makes me sad to say. The customer service is very nice always, but the quality and consistency is gonezo. I hate wasting money.
