Please read and beware. Judge for yourself before you criticize my review. This review is based on our recent visit (2nd visit). I wanted to give this place another try to truly evaluate it. Unfortunately, the same mistake occured!!!!
Our first visit, they screwed up our steak prep. I ordered medium rare while my husband medium. Our steak came out completely opposite, mine medium to well done, his was oozing blood. We sent them back to the kitchen. The sad thing was that we waited 27 min before our food arrived and then another 15 min for our steak to be done properly the second time!! We still paid full price for our meal.
Three weeks later, I wanted to try again so I know it was a rare occasion that happened to us. Lo and behold, same thing happened. To make it worst, my husband ordered the porterhouse $36! I ordered the Ft Worth ribeye, $28. As usual, mine was supposed to be medium rare and his medium. I timed it. From the time the orders were put in, we waited 29 min. Luckily, the server brought us 2 baskets of rolls! We munched on the peanuts. To be honest, I was almost full eating all those rolls. Can't blame me when our dinner took so long! When dinner arrived, I was in tears. I thought I was about to tear up those ribeye. Mine was so well done and my husband expensive porterhouse was oozing out blood. He was disgusted! I was pist! So, we asked for our server and told her our disappointment, not the first time, but again. We wanted her to send them back. Funny thing was that the server told us to keep the sides while she sent our steaks back to the kitchen!! What good are the sides when they are cold??? She did not even have the courtesy to let us know that warm and new sides will be served with our steaks!!
So, another 16 min, our steaks arrived. Strange thing was why my husband steak took 16 min when the porterhouse was so rare and all you need to do is to cook it to medium?? However, you cannot reverse a well done steak to medium rare. I can see why my steak has to be a new piece.
The manager, Mallory, brought the steaks and I was angry. I explained that this wasn't the first time and told her the history. She was apologetic. She brought out new warm sides for us.
So, long waits just to eat dinner at this point. By that time, I wasn't hungry. We bagged our food
Btw, the next table suffered the same fate. Their steaks came out cold. Something strange going on with the kitchen crew!!
So, Mallory did discount our dinner ticket. I'm thankful for that. I'm unsure with going back to the same restaurant. Probably another city if I were to try Texas Roadhouse!!!
In summary, repeat over and over again to your server....make sure the server gets your steak right when they write it down. Tell the server to keep an eye on the steaks when they come out and should not be sitting on the heat warmer for extended period of time!! Also, when the server serves you the steak, don't let them leave until you cut into the steak in front of them. If it is not done right, tell them to send it back asap and tell them to call the manager!! Trust me, it will be a very long wait before you get your steaks and another long wait when you send your steaks back to the kitchen. By that time, you're no longer hungry!!!
At least you'll enjoy the peanuts and yeast rolls!
Gainesville store is bad!
Who is the manager and is this person aware?? Better still, who is the owner? Will you eat here if your being...
Read moreLast night was a celebration for my daughters 18th birthday. She wanted to celebrate at Texas Roadhouse because she loves the rolls. We walked in, got checked in and waited for our turn to be seated. At 7:04 the hostess took us to our table, we were provided no silverware. Our waitresses took our drink order, we asked for 2 waters and 1 lemonade. We received 3 waters, and was never offered a refill. The waitresses left and after she finished helping at the table next to us we asked if we could have bread brought to out the table. She brought the bread, and we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu . When we were ready to order, we asked for the onion blossom and the boneless wings along with the rest of our order, i also reminded our waitress that we had not received the lemonade. She apologized and said that she'd get it right away, we never got it. The apps arrived to the table, the boneless Buffalo wings were by no means worth $12.99. They were cut incredibly small. We asked for more bread, and requested that the lemonade be removed from our bill since we had not received it. After we got our apps, more people were seated next to us, mind you we placed our entire order and received our apps before they were seated. The people next to us ordered, not long after, all of their food was brought to their table. After that, we decided that we would pay for what we received and leave. I asked for a supervisor when I got to the front. Mind you, the place was incredibly noisy and we had to speak up in order for her to hear me. I explained to the supervisor the events that had transpired. She apologized and I handed her my card to pay the bill for the onion and the Buffalo bites. After a few minutes she comes back, and my husband had walked back in and was standing beside me. She handed me my card and said that she'd taken care of the rest of the order. Confused, because we never received any other food so we were clear on what she'd "taken care of". My husband reminded her that we had not received any of the other food so her removing it from the ticket was not help to us. She then becomes defensive and says to my husband not to yell at her. Again, we were surrounded by people having conversations so the only way to hear anyone is to project your voice. I said to her ma'am, no one's yelling. My at this is upset and declines to sign the receipt due to the poor service, and the incredibly unprofessional behavior of the "supervisor ". I will be calling today to request the phone number to their corporate office. !!!WE WILL NEVER DINE...
Read more3-2-2024….This was the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life. We never received the salads till after dinner plates arrived. I ordered the fried steak with gravy. When it was brought out you could see blood on top. The waitress who delivered the food assured me it was from my husband’s steak that ran into it off of his plate. Still….why...Well, it wasn't as I cut into it I was met with a sea of bloody gravy. Sent it back because you could not eat it. Salads then arrived after we asked again for them. While taking first bite of my salad I have my nine-month-old beside me in the booth in a booster seat because she is eating her yogurt empties. A man walks up with my replacement food. As I was trying to move my salad he said what exactly was wrong with the other in a condescending tone which caught me off guard. As I am trying to move the salad away while holding my child with my left arm and telling him there was blood everywhere…. He puts the hot plate in front of our nine months old who immediately smashes the hot gravy before the plate is even set on the table. She screams bloody murder as I am trying to get gravy off her hand to see if her hand is bubbling up from any immediate burn. The hand was immediately red with no initial damage. Man did apologize before walking off grabbing us to go plates as I am telling my husband lets go, baby still crying bloody murder. As my husband moves the plate to pack up some food because I have yet to eat. Long piece of hair was fried into the dish. As they came back to apologize and saw the hair we were trying to leavea asking for the bill manager says we need to wait he needs fix bill. Almost 10mins pass as we are ready to go. Only took off the country fried steak and gravy. Left with a traumatized infant, hungry, and paid for food we didn't eat (salads). So no this is not a kid friendly establishment as they need more training on where to set a plate down with infants at the table. One of the mangers who acted like he didn't know what to do got my husbands information because they had to report the burn mentioned he would fix the ticket- only took off partial of my meal even though I didn't eat anything. $100+ we paid left hungry and traumatized. We never recommend because of #1 my child was physically hurt, the food was inedible, managers reaction nonchalant, and because of waiters not knowing what...
