On Wednesday, May 18, 2015 at 10:46 PM I made emergency reservation due to a critically ill family member going to the local hospital. I live three hours away so I needed to make a reservation to accommodate my special needs son whobr is on oxygen support. At around 2 AM I noticed I was low on one of his medications and I could no longer go on the trip to Gainesville because of this reason. I called at 2:36 AM to cancel the reservation and spoke to a wonderful lady by the name of Julian. She told me she was not authorized to give me a refund so to call in the morning and speak to a manager. I called at around 9:05 AM to talk about my refund. Note that this room for five hours was $120. The manager Was a female and I do not recall her name because of how upset I was. She told me that I was to not get my refund due to turning away guests from a room. I was also told that normally I would've been given a refund but they can't do it this time for the fact they turned away customers. And a five hours time the four rooms they had available were filled. What I just don't understand is I was not offered any advice or helpful answers to my situation. She was very rude with me and did not care of the negative review I was going to leave. Even though I no longer needed the room due to the fact that my critically ill family members status had changed and my special needs son not having enough medication. I am sickened that I lost $120 for five hours and no help. Literally corporate couldn't even do anything. What a shameful business and I hope your negativity gets the best of you. I would not be so bitter if I was offered any kind of help. You guys give a discount to people staying at your hotel due to medical emergencies but you will not help them in times of need. You guys are sham and a scam. I hope this spread like wild fire because being nice would've gotten you a longer way. Also I was told that if I gave them a copy of my phone record to prove when I made these conversations and the timings of these conversations something else might be different. But the manager gave me a false email address. How professional. I'm so sure you need that $120. Thank you for stealing it and thank you for making this horrible experience for my family even more horrible because of your business.

Read moreThere is so much I can say about our stay in August 2016 for our family reunion trip but I am going to try to keep it short. When my family (3 adults 4 kids) and I arrived to the hotel after driving from Michigan, we were so releived and ready to get a good night's rest. However, our sleeping in rest was interrupted by a phone call at 7am from the front desk stating that our 2015 Ford Explorer was one out of 8 cars that were broken into in the hotel parking lot. At first I thought it was a joke and I even asked her, but sure enough when we went to the parking lot the Sheriff was there along with other guest and their broken into vehicles. I never seen anything like it. Here we are on our family vacation and we are doing the opposite of relaxing. So of course we went to the front desk to see what they had to say and the lady told us that she is sure we would get a follow up call from her manager once she got in. She also mentioned that a similar incident occured the previous month. If thats the case you think the hotel would provide their own security or even have signs of some sort. True indeed, you cannot control some things but you can make an effort to deter it. Well hours went by and that call was never made to us so we contacted her and we were told that this happens and this was out of their control. I then contacted the 800 number as well and was told again it was out of their control. We did not receive (first of all) a call back, an apology, an offer to cover that night or even the choice of parking closer to the front, or assistance with paying for or even locating a place to fix the window. We had a 2 day stay there because this was the hotel offered for our 2 day family reunion with our other family members and then we were driving to Orlando for 5 days and then back to Michigan. So we had to drive around with a plastic tapped window for the next 5 days until an auto window repair place was available to fix the window. Not to mention, after getting the window taped and attending the family reunion events we returned to a parking lot full of glass hours later to the point I was directing cars to avoid the glass. I went to the front desk and advised them this needed to be taken care, especially considering the fact this occurred more than 8 hours ago...smh. Since the incident, we received an apology letter from the County Sheriff's department but nothing from the Country...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I ever had dealing with a hotel. I booked two rooms at the Gainesville, FL location and checked in on 6/27/2015 to attend a funeral nearby on 6/28/2015 and drove back to South Florida shortly after the funeral on 6/28. On 6/26, I had initially booked the rooms for 2 nights to check out on 6/29. However, this changed when my parents (who occupied) one room stated (before we left town on 6/26) that they wanted to return home after the funeral on 6/28. I thought that I had changed the reservation before I left, but I was told (when I checked in on 6/27) that the reservation was for 2 nights. I told the desk clerk that the stay was only for one night to check out the next day. He reprinted the card to show the checkout for the next day, but I didn't realize that he changed it only for one of the rooms. Later that evening, I spoke with the desk clerk and obtained approval for a later checkout time (i.e. 1 hour later) for both rooms since we would be attending a funeral the next day. I checked out for both rooms by turning in the keys with the desk clerk (stating that I was checking out), and I requested statement for both rooms that contained charges (for each room) for one night's stay at $169 plus taxes. Later, my credit card was charged 2 nights' stay ($169 for 1 night and $139 for the second night), resulting in $341.88 charged for each room, resulting in total charges of $683.76. Since we only stayed in the rooms for one night, this resulted in charges of $341.88 for a night's stay. This hotel is not worth that. The hotel then fought my credit card dispute, resulting in charge-backs. It's horrible to be left with this feeling of being cheated. Any confusion about a reservation of 2 nights versus 1-night should have been fully resolved when I checked in and stated that the stay (for both rooms) was only for 1 night. Also, it should have been resolved when I turned in the keys and stated that we were checking out and when I asked for the statements. I also provided the hotel with a statement from my Sunpass Transponder account recording my travels to South Florida on 6/28. What an awful experience to pay $341.88 for 1 night's stay for 2 rooms, also during...
