Hello I am updating my review today after I had a spectacular dinner this weekend. I will keep my original review below this one but me and my brother went on Saturday evening before catching a movie. I got a frozen orange crush which was bomb and perfect for such a hot day. We shared the Fried and Glazed Shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. Honestly it was so much shrimp for the price and came on a bed of coleslaw which was a great touch to balance the fried shrimp. It was the Star of the meal. We were getting popcorn at the movie so we decided to split an entree and went with the Southern Chicken Sammie . I really liked this sandwich the pimento cheese with the hot honey was an amazing combination flavor. The piece of chicken was very large but perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Overall this was a great dining experience and I would highly recommend it for a fun outing. I will absolutely be returning and you better believe I’ll be ordering the shrimp again!
I went for RW to try a few different items for the lower price and chose the $25 three course menu. I got the fried green tomatoes, the chicken sandwich and the dark chocolate molten cake for my selections. The fried green tomatoes were delicious and definitely the stand out from the meal. I thought the hot honey was a great addition with the pimento cheese. The cake was very chocolaty and balanced well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream just a classic combination. But unfortunately the chicken sandwich was a let down and since it was the main dish it diminished the dining experience slightly. It was very plain it only came with LTO no sauce at all not even mayo so it was very dry. If it had a sauce or an aioli I think it would have been a lot better because the chicken was well fried and a good size portion. I will say that I still gave this experience a higher rating because of how good the drinks were. It’s very hard to find a fun drink menu at more affordable restaurants outside of dc and this bar service was great. I got a fun Star Wars drink called the Tattoine Dream and then the bottomless mimosas which were all very good and had 3 flavors to choose from. I would absolutely dine again but may forgo the pre set menu and just order from the main to see if it is a better selection of...
Read moreThis is a classic American-style restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s a great spot for family gatherings, dinners with friends, or even company meals.
The service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and thoughtful throughout the entire meal.
Here’s what we ordered:
Five Spice Pork Shoulder & Crispy Rice (Appetizer) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Tender pulled pork, slow-braised and flavorful, served over crispy rice cakes. Bold flavors and a great way to start the meal — it really whets your appetite.
Truffle Marinated Artichoke Bruschetta (Appetizer) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Marinated artichokes served over soft slices of bread. The bread was nicely toasted and airy, but some of the artichokes were a bit tough and stringy, which made them hard to chew.
Rainbow Trout Almodine (Entrée) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Generous portion of trout, moist and flaky, topped with a layer of sliced almonds that added a nice crunch. The mashed potatoes on the side were creamy and delicious. However, the lentils were a bit too firm and stringy.
The Charley Burger ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Cooked to the right doneness, but overall not very memorable — solid, but didn’t stand out.
Brioche Bread Pudding (dessert) ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Topped with a scoop of ice cream and garnished with fresh strawberry slices. The pudding was rich and milky, and the tartness of the berries balanced the sweetness perfectly. A satisfying and comforting dessert.
Cosmopolitan: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Light, sweet, and refreshing — perfect for summer sipping.
Espresso Martini ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Rich and bold, with a deep, aromatic coffee flavor that lingers. Smooth and slightly creamy in texture, a perfect choice.
The restaurant is located by the lake at Rio, offering lovely views. Dining by the water at sunset made for a truly relaxing and pleasant experience. I’d definitely come back — and would recommend it to...
Read moreThis upscale and trendy (independently-owned) venue in Rio Center was exactly what was needed for this locale. Note: Parking for this venue is very tricky. The location entrance is inside the mall that connects to a parking garage; there is no valet or immediate parking for the venue.
Once you do locate the entrance you will find a funky-meets-fancy vibe, with dim-lighting and deep booths just like your favorite steak houses have always done it, but with flashes of eccentricity that remind you this is not Smith & Wollensky.
If you’re into cocktails, this is your paradise! A full menu page is dedicated to the most unique (and the most classic) concoctions with fun names to get the experience started right! I went to my staple, the classic daiquiri, and the delivery was PERFECT!!
Food was delicious. The duck fat potatoes with truffle served as my appetizer and they were sinfully scrumptious. The handmade pasta was an 8 out of 10. The squid ink pasta dish was great, but I would suggest go with the spicy rigatoni. Everything was presented immaculately! I suspect the beef is the star of the show- but all the reason more to go back!
Staff was young and a the volume of diners for a new venue can be tough. Everyone handled everything with grace and management would clean sweep and check in after every course. Haven’t seen as many concerned servers for awhile now- it was refreshing and I was grateful for such dedicated efforts on all fronts.
Sat in booth in the bar area, which was ideal for two people (in my opinion) who want to chat but don’t want to be on the less action-packed dining side of the restaurant. Also has ample outdoor seating, but keep in mind those seats get direct (and intense) sunlight, especially within the happy hour timeframe.
Looking forward to my next visit! Thank you for a...
