Champagne on Main — Restaurant in Galena

Champagne on Main is an excellent addition to the incredible lineup of retail and food/beverage options on the Main Street of Galena. It can easily get lost between the other shops if you are not looking for it.

As suggested, champagne is their main offering. No beers, but there are PLENTY of other places that serves beer, some only a couple doors down. They do have a large selection of whiskies, particularly bourbon. The champagne selection was quite impressive, but I’m personally a bigger fan of whisky so I ordered the Calumet Flight. I thought everything was priced well, maybe on the higher side for a glass of Champagne but that is to be expected. Get a bottle if you know you will be drinking more than a couple glasses.

Service was great. Our party of 8 were taken care of very well. The space itself is just beautiful. There’s some patio seating out back with some two seaters inside on the first level. Gorgeous winding stairs lead to the second level where there are couches and seating arrangements for larger groups.

While my wife & I were shopping in Downtown Galena we decided to take a little break. Instead of coffee our normal break confection we decided to try Champagne on Main, (our 1st visit). Well it won't be our last. It was a Saturday early afternoon and we were warmly greeted by Laura the owner. She gave us a great table up front by the Bar & Sunny Front Window. The day was cold 32 degrees outside but inside Champagne on Main it was delightful. Laura was so excited about her place and gave us a bit of history on her old building. Drinks were perfect & prices not bad. We relaxed, (chilled) there for about an hour...then off for more shopping. Thank - You Galena for the great day.....and you to Laura!

PS - Laura showed us her new El Fresco outside seating area out the back door...nice quiet garden like spot with a tall wood fence that seats about 30 people. Going back for sure this upcoming Summer. Well Done...

Forget this stop along your journey down main street Galena. We saw our food be served at a table which arrived much after our ordering, 3 of us had drinks 1 of us waited 40 min.for a Chardonay, Fererie Corano Chard. We had to order our cheese board 5 times to get it, then no server wear, plates or napkins, no water, then they ran out of Chardonay after 1 glass and told me I drank it all and I should not have ordered something that is 'out of season".
