Nothing about this place is remarkable and would entice me to come back. Ordered the pulled pork combo and the loaded fries separately for a pretty outrageous cost $30+. Well the order got messed up the gentleman at the window requested to fix it but just at that time a tourist bus had dropped off a bunch of folks and it got busy. I decided I didn’t want to hold them up and just took the order as received. The food was basic food service fair, felt like it came off the food service truck frozen pre-prepared in one door… heated up and placed in a styrofoam container and served out the window on the other end. The pulled pork was absolutely nothing special, it was bland and mushy , not sure how others say it was delicious… the loaded fries were cold and soggy with what felt like food service grade bagged bacon bits. If you are hungry and just need to fill a hole and are not concerned with quality … this would be your place. The only plus which kept me from rating a one star was the raspberry shake and the cold Pepsi. But to be fair, everything I described above seems the normal for Bear Lake food… captive customers leaving the beach hungry will just want to eat just about anything…

This place is located just before the light and on the right in garden city. it has a nice lower shaded dining area and a cool open sky upper dinning area. they serve breakfast lunch and dinner, but breakfast options are from 8am to 10am and then lunch and dinner are from 10am to 10pm. Their shakes are wonderful and very tasty. they blend them up very finely so there are not a lot of chunks of things like cheese cake or pineapple like at other establishments but it does create a fuller mix of flavors that are very nice. they have a bathroom on the lower level on the east side and there was a nice breeze when i visited that made the lower level in the shade feel great. i would like to visit some time when its night to try the upper deck in the stars. note that the shakes take a little bit to get after ordering but they are worth the wait.

I ordered just a shake then waited for 25 minutes for that one raspberry shake. People who got their food before me all had to ask them to fix something that was wrong with the order (no cheese, no pickles, we ordered fries too, where's the bacon... etc.) I was number 621 several people with numbers after that (622, 624, 625) got their orders before me, including multiple raspberry shakes, other shakes, and food. I finally asked politely when my order was coming and they still didn't get it to me until I asked a second time. Then when I finally got the shake (which was $8 btw) it was yummy, yes, but not particularly of note. Definitely overpriced. And not fresh local raspberries. It was just frozen raspberries mixed with vanilla ice cream. It was just not worth it in the end.

I got food poisoning here over the weekend!

Editing to reply to Ephraim's response First, as it was explained by the health department to me at 5:15 today. Well yes this product is pre-cooked, the risk of improper temperatures is there. This was regarding your restaurant. Secondly, I was at Bear Lake with my family that day yes! But, aside from dipping my toe in the water to check the temp, I did not get in the lake because it was too cold. As far as the food that i consumed in the 24 hours prior, I have a dairy allergy. So I am very careful with everything that I eat! This absolutely was not a dairy allergy attack. I had a fever and severe stomach pain. 6 straight hours of violently vomiting while I'm stuck on the toilet. While running a fever (body aches, etc..) The way I was treated about this is disgusting. Being asked by (who I later found out was your manager Jo) "Well what do you want me to do about it?" And having to ask him to take my number for a follow up. To which he replied "oh you need someone to follow up with you?" Is really the best way the man in charge can handle something like this? I was coming on here to edit my review regarding the update that I just got from the health department. And saw that you guys FINALLY responded to my review. I tried multiple other ways/times of reaching out and it wasn't until the health department was mentioned that you guys seemed to care. And it wasn't caring about a customer being sick. More so, your image as a business. The way your response to my review is worded, does not accurately depict how you guys handled this situation! My only point in reaching out in the first place was just to make you guys aware that this happened. The way you guys escalated this situation is not professional! Wording goes a long ways! And so does giving a damn about the people that are eating at your restaurant! And for this alone you guys will ultimately end up losing business, not because of the sickness (things happen) But because this is the worst customer service I've ever experienced! Oh but thanks for refunding my money the $15 back from my $100+ bill. 😒 I'd give zero...

Last year, this place was THE place. This year it is the worst place. If you are looking for a place to eat in Garden City, ANYWHERE would be better than this. The food isn't terrible, but now instead of ordering at a window and waiting for your number to be called, you get a so called "waitress" who will never take care of you. She will be over worked, under trained and forget just about everything you say to her. She will probably be nice with good intentions but intentions have never tasted very good to me. We asked for a large shake but was told "we are only serving kid shakes because we are predicting that we will run out of Ice Cream if we give everyone a large." I am still confused as to why this is my problem. The large is 20 oz and is $4.99, child is 8oz and $3.50. They don't limit how many shakes you order, just as long as you are spending extra money on it. Oh and the best part is when you get your shake, it will be more of a soup than a shake from either sitting too long or way too much milk in the shake. Ask for a straw so you can just drink it like a flavored milk. When you order your food feel free to go swim across the lake and back to work up an appetite and by the time you get back there should only be a little longer to wait for your food to come up. Seriously though, its a good 30 mins from the time you order to the time you get your food. If you have the time to wait, go at it. Last year this was our favorite place to go. This year we will eat at the Chevron over going back here. We tried it twice this year alone and its only gotten worse from visit #1 to visit #2. Good luck Jakes, but in that competitive of a market, the only way to survive is to offer something the others don't that other people want, and crappy service is not really in...

We went to Jake's on a Saturday afternoon, so it probably wasn't the best time to be there. There was quite a wait just to order; however, the wait to get food was outrageous. We waited 50 minutes to get our food, and then the order was wrong. We ordered one burger with onion rings and a side order of onion rings. We got a burger with fries and a side of onion rings. However, in retrospect, we were glad we got the fries, because the onion rings were almost inedible. They were very greasy, and the batter was very sweet. While some may like that, we don't.

After getting the food, my son got a table with the food and I went to the window where shakes are delivered. I wait about 5 minutes (while my food was getting cold), then gave up. I didn't want cold food. I finally heard our number for the shakes about 15 minutes later. We were almost finished eating at that point. Had I waited for the shakes, my food would not have been edible at all.

After finishing my food, I asked for a manager and was told there was no manager on duty. The person who talked to me asked if I would rather have my food order replaced or a partial refund. There was no way I wanted to wait another hour for a replacement order, which I told him. He gave us a partial refund. He also said they had a near-complete staff turnover in the previous two weeks. For this reason, I give the restaurant two stars instead of one. The food was just passable but overpriced, in my opinion. The...
