Updated Review After my original review about our disappointing visit, I want to follow up and share that the restaurant reached out to me directly. They acknowledged our experience, apologized for what happened, and sent us $50 in gift certificates as a gesture of appreciation and to invite us back to give them another try.
I truly appreciate when a business takes the time to listen, respond, and make things right. It shows they value their customers and care about improving. We plan to use the gift certificates in the near future and hope to have the kind of great experience we’ve enjoyed on previous visits.
Thank you to the team for addressing the situation and giving us a reason to come back.
Good afternoon, stopped in this afternoon a little after 12:00. Actually 12:21 to be exact and we were seated right away. Party of four, my wife, my daughter and my granddaughter and we ordered bloody Marys 30 minutes later. Actually longer because we had to ask the manager Sam. I believe she was a fill-in let her know that our bloody Marys were not there. She continued to drop our food off before we even had those drinks and then my wife's sunrise something menu item eggs completely overcooked. You guys did remake it, but at that time the rest of the table was finished eating and I had the Santa Fe Skillet I believe and that was disappointing. It just seemed like it was an off day. I heard continuous bickering in the back about accountability of a server not walking out or someone not walking out because something wasn't full when they were trying to hold that person accountable and from quitting and I guess there was arguments over our table. Our server was phenomenal but the manager in the whole experience overall was very, very disappointing and then receiving the bill. Nothing was even discounted. The manager didn't do a follow-up of you know. Hey. Is that better for you? I really apologize that your eggs were overcooked with my wife's meal. No follow-up, no hospitality, no personable table touches anywhere in the restaurant as it seemed that she was miserable of being there and then as we're leaving I see her out back behind the dumpsters playing with her nails on her phone. Doing something just hanging out there. I don't know if she was smoking but I mean really. You could have taken that time to follow up with the table that was not happy. We told our server that the entire experience was very disappointing. That will be back because she was phenomenal and we've been there two other times prior. We're here for the season. And I'm just very disappointed of what happened. So I'm willing to give another try again but after that I'm done because this just really put a bad taste in my mouth and especially overhearing all the arguing of what's happening and then the manager not doing any kind of follow-up and it was just not personable. There's no hospitality whatsoever in this restaurant. I just had to vent to whoever's going to read this as I heard that the main general manager, the main manager was off and that this was a fill-in sub. So I don't know what that means. But this person that you brought in to manage for your store today was absolutely horrible and your team. Obviously took advantage of that like a...
Read moreMy husband and I wanted to love this place we are from out of state and we're excited to try Flap Jack Shack. The website makes it look so appealing but we were sadly disappointed. The restaurant was not too capacity due to covid however it took an extremely long time to even be served and our waitress seemed overly frustrated and even told us she's "really feeling it today." I ordered the steak and eggs. My steak had zero seasoning not even salt and pepper. It had no flavor and tasted like plain hamburger meat. My eggs were almost rubber like and oddly small. I was also shocked to find out when you order toast it's literally one piece of toast. I have never in my life been to a breakfast place and only received one piece of toast. My husband ordered a meatlovers omelet with cheese, there was no cheese on the inside of the omelet just a piece of American cheese melted on top. He also ordered a side of hash browns because it doesn't come with it. It did not come out with the rest of the food we had to ask the waitress for it. And then when it did come out it was a greasy mess literally floating in grease not crispy at all. We thought for sure being the flap jack shack his pancakes would be amazing but we were disappointed with those as well. There was very little flavor and they were almost tough to cut like they've been sitting around for a while. The retrovibe was cool but definitely not worth the wait or the money. I'm bummed that we wasted a breakfast on our vacation...
Read moreI got three of the things I wanted to try here. Everything was great, however this is only an issue for me. The stuffed cherry French toast was something I didn't like. Not because it was bad but because I forgot I don't like cherry haha.
The cinnamon swirl pancakes were huge! I wish they put cream cheese in between them all and not just on top.
And finally the biscuits and gravy. This is something I came here for. I was kind of disappointed by it because it was cold already by the time I got to it but it's probably my fault since I got to it last. I don't think they use fresh biscuits as well.
All in all, I enjoyed it and most of my disappointments were a me issue and not a restaurant issue. The server was nice. The decor is nice. I wanted to try the banana bread French toast but I have other restaurants to try today so I might go another day.
I recommend this place if you want some out of the ordinary pancakes and French toast. For your basic breakfast items, I'd probably go somewhere else though.
PS: when I ordered the stuffed French toast, I thought it'd have stuffing IN it. Did not know it meant it could be also just on it
Update (3/26/22): got the Reese's pancakes and the baked Omelette with jalapeños. The pancakes were too much haha. So much chocolate. Loved it. Omelette...
