Ever since this location opened, which was a looong time ago, it seemed like everyone I worked with loved the food. I did not, felt like they had no idea what a grinder/sub/hoagie whatever you want to call it is supposed to be like, and eventually stopped tagging along when it was suggested. Tonight my son and I needed a quick meal and he suggested it, saying the grinders were good. I figured it had been 15+ years since I last ate there, so I'd give it another try thinking things may be different now. Nope. The gray-beige meat sliced thin as sandwich meat was supposed to be meatballs. I don't really care about the thinness, it was the bare minimum of meat/lack of flavor and the literal spoonful of pizza sauce that got me. The cheese was the highlight and there wasn't much of that either. And the fries I substituted? They were underdone to the point I didn't feel safe eating them and they went in the trash. My son's club grinder at least looked decent from what I could see of the ample tomatoes and lettuce on top. Now, I have no idea whether what we got was a result of the fact that the cashier saw that I didn't include a tip on the ticket, but I noticed a demeanor change immediately from him when I slid the ticket back and he looked at it. Well check your cameras if you have them and you'll see I put cash in the tip jar when you were turned around fussing at the cook for making a whole pizza when the lady in front of me only ordered a slice. I try to use cash for tips whenever possible. Now I wish I hadn't. Lousiest $26 I've spent in a restaurant in a while. BUT I guess I should have known when I saw that all grinders are the same price no matter what meat - or vegetarian option...
Read moreMy father and I came here at around 12:30 pm on a Saturday. There was no confusion when ordering our food, and our order was taken and given to us accurately. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, fries and wings. The food was okay, I would give the pizza 7/10. it would be better if the crust was slightly crispier. Also, the cheese would come off of the whole slice when I would take a bite. I understand that the type of pizza Rudino's serves may just be different to what I am used to, but this is just my opinion. I was not a huge fan of the chicken wings. The sauce was good. However, the wings felt/tasted like they were baked, not fried. That may be up to personal taste, but I personally prefer the crispiness of a fried chicken wing, as opposed to a soft, baked wing. The wings were high quality, big and meaty, however I just personally don't like soft wings. I personally would give the wings a 4/10. The fries were pretty good. They were kind of boring. Not very salty or flavorful, so I put hot sauce on them. With the sauce, the fries were good. Overall, I don't regret stopping here for lunch, although I don't think I...
Read moreI don't know what happened to this place but its dropped off. Twice now I've gotten terrible service.
Coming since 2021 when I moved to Garner cause I like buying local. Great pizza, good grinders, fair price, well made. Stopped going for a while, go back and twice I get bad service.
First time I wait 35 minutes, ask where my order is, wait 50 minutes total to get my order. Crazy since its 1 pizza and 1 pasta for carryout.
Second time I go in, order 1 pizza and 1 fries, wait 40 minutes, go up to ask where my order is, its sitting on the counter and the cashiers glimpse at each other which makes me suspicious. I touch the middle of the fries, basically room temperature. The pizza, luke-warm at best.
Once, a fluke. Twice, a problem to me. I've been going for 2 years so I might give it final shot and update if its better...
Disappointing... I really used to like the spot...
