Rose's Jamaican Hub — Restaurant in Gastonia

Walked up and greeted by cashier. Hadn't had Jamaican food from a restaurant before just from someone I knew cooking it. So was a new experience. I got a small jerk chicken. So jerk chicken, rice and beans, cabbage and carrots. Chicken had good flavor but skin wasn't crisp, looked fatty, so that part wasn't for me. The chicken looked like it could've been done a little longer but it tasted fine and had the right texture overall. The rice and beans was awesome and the cabbage and carrots wasn't bad - considering I'm not a huge fan of cabbage lol. I'm willing to try other foods next time. I decided to visit this new Jamaican restaurant at East ridge mall and I was pleasantly surprised! This is some of the best Jamican food I have had in the Charlotte/Gastonia area. Hands down!!! I tried a little bit of everything and they did not disappoint. Curry goat, oxtail, rice and peas, cabbage, cocoa bread, beef pattie and plantains. All of it was delicious and you you can tell they use the correct spices and flavoring for authentic Jamaican food. Raised in a household with a Jamaican born stepfather, I am used to real Jamaican food and when I saw that they made butter beans with the oxtails, I knew I had hit the Jackpot and that this was REAL Jamaican cuisine. Plus the prices were very reasonable! I will definitely be back....

Ain't no way... Somebody lying!!!! This food was nasty and old! The rice was crunchy, I was scared to eat the chicken as it looked like it could cook a little longer; meat was still pink, the curry was powdery, the mac and cheese was overly salty, noodles were on the mushy side and the cheese on top was hard and the cheese inside was not melted. The fufu was watery. The oxtail was dry and for a large you get like 4 bones; hardly any meat. The beef patty was old and hard. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Overall the food was inedible. Pictures Posted.
