The Human Bean in Georgetown is a standout in the world of drive-thru coffee. During my visit, the quality of the coffee far exceeded expectations. Smooth, rich, and expertly balanced. A standout in this experience was Hannah, the barista who crafted my drink with a level of care rarely found at this tier of coffee service. Not only was the beverage perfectly calibrated to my taste (a skill that speaks volumes about her training and palate), but her demeanor was warm, attentive, and quietly confident. We were soooo excited to have a coffee shop so close. Having been a few times now I must report that The Human Bean has been a huge disappointment. The drinks are quite bland. You have to ask for extra pumps of flavor or it tastes like plain espresso. The service isn’t slow at all actually, it’s just terrible. It’s extremely frustrating to have to repeat your order over and over and over each visit only to have them get it wrong anyway. From the moment you pull up, place your order, to paying beyond a responsible price for a stellar product. I am a bonifde Starbucks stock holder and they have lost me.
