I usually post positive reviews, but my experience at Carrabba's on Saturday night was so poor that I feel compelled to share it.
We arrived at 10 PM, and the sign indicated they were open until 11 PM, so we didn't anticipate any issues. Despite other options, I chose Carrabba's for our family, expecting better food and service compared to other restaurants in the shopping center.
After sitting on school bleachers for four hours, we really wanted a full booth. However, the host was pushing to seat us at a half booth, half chairs table. He mentioned it would take some time to clear a booth, that he had "other things to do" and we again expressed our preference for a full booth. We could see booths that were clear and set all around the restaurant. Instead of accommodating us promptly, he continued with his other tasks, making us wait 15 minutes in a virtually empty restaurant.
When we were finally seated, it was next to the only other guest left, who was constantly complaining to the waitress and manager about his dissatisfaction with their service and food quality. And while perhaps understandable, based on our poor experience, this made our dinner uncomfortable. We ended up bending over backwards to be polite, but our waitress was short with us. She seemed irritated when we asked for utensils, which we didn't have even after our food was served, and she didn't refill our drinks.
My food was disappointingâ I had the Shrimp and Scallop Linguine alla Vodka. No flavor. Certainly below average and not remotely worth the amount charged. My wife did say her meatball ricotta appetizer was good.
While many tables were set, we also saw many tables around the restaurant which hadn't been bussed and noted there were paper towels littering the floor in the washroom. So perhaps they were short of staff.
When we were ready to leave, it took what seemed like forever to get a to-go box and the check.
Overall, it was a completely disappointing experience. We all work really hard for our money. Going out to eat is a treat and I think it's reasonable to expect really good food and really good service. We all want and expect a great experience. This was not that. At all.
I see this store has many solid reviews, so I'm hoping for their sake this was a fluke. But that said, I can't imagine that I'll ever go to a Carrabba's Italian Grill again. They...
Read moreMy kids really wanted pasta for dinner, weâre usually more of an Olive Garden type but Carrabbaâs was closer ⌠We were really looking forward to having a great dinner, even though it was a long wait we are very patient & understanding . Unfortunately we had a horrible experience . Because the blinds on the window at our table wouldnât work, it was stuck ⌠everyone around us made it such a huge deal . ESPECIALLY the server who was serving the tables next to us . Old lady with dark hair to her shoulders . She has a daughter that works there too ? We overheard her telling all the tables 20 times that it was her daughter . Anywho, she disturbed our table 3 times trying to get my kids to stand up to fix the blinds on the window . I told her it was stuck & we already tried to fix it but as usual she gets snappy & has an attitude . Anytime weâve gone to eat here sheâs there & I know it appears that sheâs a great server & what not but NO ! She picks & chooses which tables to be nice to . There was another table across from us & she was very snappy to them as well . She went outside & put pillows on our window so we stared at pillows the whole dinner . On top of all of that, with our server we had to constantly ask for refills, never brought us some items we asked for multiple times . The servers always come around closer to the end when itâs time for the check . Anywho, it was a very uncomfortable dinner with the old lady server with dark hair talking about us to the table next to us . Again, this is why always go to Olive Garden âŚ. Always welcoming, very attentive, never feel singled out & great food ! & Yes, weâll just stop eating there, or maybe weâll give it another chance ? My kids felt uncomfortable & Iâd never want to put them in that situation again . Do...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with my overall experience!
We came here a couple of weeks ago, (me and my boyfriend). Everywhere else nearby was crowded, and we love Italian food, so we though we would give this restaurant a try.
First of all, their digital menus did NOT work! We both tried on our phones and could not get any QR code to scan. We had to wait nearly 10 minutes just for small paper menus that I had to squint just to read!! Thankfully we weren't challenged by our eye sight, but I can only imagine the stress for those who are! Also, how TACKY!!!
Not only that, but when we DID get menus, the pricing was sky high! That automatically made me think, "ok, then this BETTER be a high class restaurant with phenomenal food and service!" $20 for pasta for one person is ridiculous!
Our server was mediocre.
But the food! Dear Lord, it was horrible!! đđ¤˘
We waited about an hour for our food in total after we ordered. The soup of the day came about 15 minutes after we ordered, then we waited nearly 45 minutes for our entrees.
We were not happy by the end of our meal. We had been there an hour an a half or more, JUST for our meals!
The food was below mediocre. I've paid way less for high quality Italian at mom & pop places! $40+ for an unacceptable quality. The service barely earned you one star in this review!
1/10. I do not recommend! Literally anywhere else is better than this place!! I won't be coming back to this location for a long time, if ever!
Also, while I don't make money from reviewing restaurants, I do regularly make reviews, so this isn't my first! I would love to see another critic who is more serious and (with way more clout) make an assessment. I would hope you would not treat them as badly...
