One star is too many! None of the flavorless food tasted mexican whatsoever , there were no spices, no chilies, no cumin, no cilantro, no fresh onion, no salt!!!! Spices and effort matter, yet this place chooses to not cook with flavor or care. The positive reviews are really hard to believe. The meat is not grilled like the menu describes but rather pan cooked or boiled then stored, chewy reheated dry meat of some sort. The inside of this burrito was refrigerator cold yet it is served on a hot plate. The rice inside this burrito is cold, none of the burrito contents were freshly cooked. The flour burrito tortilla was straight out of a package, not even reheated on a flat top, nothing! There is no effort from that kitchen whatsoever. The chicken in the taco was like eating dried out straw. The sauce on the enchilada tasted like water, cornstarch, and tomato, absolutely revolting. I left that burrito, we paid, we left, never to return! If I thought they would have cared, I would have said something but when there is this much disregard from the low level service to zero food quality, there...
Read moreThis place was horrible. They need 0 stars. I had the Texas fajita. I’m pretty sure they reheated it. It WAS NOT FRESH. The chicken & steak tasted old as hell. I had to spit it in a napkin l. The shrimp was okay. The food was bland. I ordered guacamole it was horrible. Absolutely no taste/flavor. It was premade. It was turning brown. I’m so disgusted with the way that food tasted. I also ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. Again not good. I had to send it back. I’m just over all disappointed that I gave this place a chance. I have no idea how this place have the good reviews. People can’t have any taste buds. I definitely wouldn’t recommend. Everything I ordered was horrible & definitely not authentic. You can tell in the photo that something isn’t right with that food & that it wasn’t made fresh. And to top it off they need to really dust and tidy this place up!!! The health department couldn’t have given them a...
Read moreMy wife and I ate here yesterday and the food was really good. No complaints about the service either, although it turns out our waitress was related to the owners somehow. So she would most likely be more professional.
The issues I had with the restaurant were that the restroom was dull with no decor, although it did seem clean. And the fluorescent light flickered for several seconds before it finally came on. This can be a health issue for epileptics, such as my wife, as flickering lights can potentially trigger a seizure. In addition, the water served with my meal had an undesirable taste to it, even after squeezing a lime wedge into it. They really need to filter their water, and I'm really surprised that a restaurant with such a longtime presence and high profile location, doesn't already.
All in all, a positive experience. But El Nopalito...
