* Edit for Covid safety, 2022: Since the issues that have come with covid since 2020 til the time of posting this update, we've been back to Iron Age and have still been met with phenomenal service each time. The restaurant has been kept at half capacity with every other table being sat, and even on the rare fuller-capacity days they've since installed partitions behind the backs of each both so they're still making sure to use precautions. All the waitstaff (or at least most) have been fully masked for the entire time, as well as the wait is a tiny bit longer to be seated as they usually take an extra moment to sanitize your booth before leading you to your table. They've definitely been taking covid guidelines seriously and it's always great to see. Still one of my favorite businesses forever. :) Original review, 2019: So much love for this place!! It's a little pricey but you definitely get the quality that you pay for. The bulgogi beef and soy pork/chicken are the go-to meat options. The wait staff is always exceptional in cheerfully helping with any and all service, whether its sauce, rice or drink refills or even help in cooking/cutting the meats if you prefer it. Best for groups of three or four for regular booths. They have lunch/dinner prices listed on the menu but also be sure to count an extra $2 or so for drink since it's not included in the lunch/dinner price! Not a big deal, it's just nice to know to expect it beforehand. Absolutely no complaints. Exception staff, exceptional food.

This was our first experience ever where you have to cook your own food. We went in as a group of 4 adults and 3 kids. It was pretty late for us, and since this was the only restaurant open during that time, We want to give a try. I get the idea of cooking your own food ourselves and experience the Korean style BBQ. I am an Indian and I am totally from a different culture and being here in the US for some couple of years, I had the privilege of tasting food from different parts of the world in a single place here in the US. My overall verdict of the entire experience was OK and I cannot say that it was exceptional, but I would want to be close to that. Here are some of the things that can be improved on by tailoring the menu. 1. The ambiance of the place was like no other and it had a club-like feel to it where you enter into a dark den painted with black color on the walls that gave you more darker look to it. Maybe I think that it is more intentional for the whole theme of the restaurant. I was carrying my 2-year-old and I was trying to get in an out of the restaurant but the door was quite heavy to be easily accessible. I wonder how a wheelchair person can come into the restaurant. Because I remember I do not see any kind of switch so that the door can open automatically. 2. The waiters to our table were prompt and explained the whole concept of how it all works. There is already in your table bunch of sauces for you to dip in and eat your meats. Some spiced salads for you to use with your cooked meat. We were super hungry and we just came in from a bowling game so you can imagine. We ordered some chicken and some beef meat as starting meat. The meat arrived, the waiter put in beef first on the stove before asking us which has to go on. Since we had kids, we wanted the chicken to go first so that it would cook. I have no complaints about the taste of the food. It was excellent. But the wait time to get the food cooked was a long wait. One suggestion in improvement is that, if we can have starter plate with already cooked meat samples as an appetizer then I guess that will satisfy the wait and at the same time enjoy the experience of cooking our own food and tasting it. Another improvement that can be done is to have the meat presentable in a way that can easier to handle and cook for restaurant visitors. Overall, it was a different experience. But I guess this style of the restaurant will not be for me. When I go out, I want a good chef to prepare food in his style and not worry about all the time if it is cooked or not.

Terrible staff, ridiculously rude and disrespectful! 2 months ago we had a terrible experience here you can check my review, after a while we said let’s give it a try, don’t some wrong people ruin our favorite korean bbq place, and we had a good time. And last night we went again and these things happened. We got our table and the server came, and i said to her we are ready to order everything, i ordered everything we need 1 protein, 2 rice, 2 cokes, 1 kimchi. She bring them and i passed her the small salt and oil plates that we won’t eat and no need to waste. She just put those 2 plates and throw them. Okay! She later asked for another protein and we want to go same. After that she abandon us over 10-15 minutes and we finished our salad, rice and sauces. And want water. We couldn’t find her and i asked someone can we get our server. Another person came and here is the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen in my life. He took all our needs and he bring them to table. And he start literally throwing them on the table one by one. And left. And some other person come and check if we are okay and i start giving my complaint. He was very very nice and assistant manager that time. I asked him how you serve this plate can you show me, and he put the plate very nicely, and i told him you can check the cameras and you will see what i mean. I explained that and he was so polite and gave a lot of apologies and served and checked us by himself. But as owners and managers you should take this action seriously. Watch the cameras, check with the people who got involved and make your staff don’t ruin your business. I will put my bill and you can see the servers which i couldn’t see any name on the bill. First serves was a white lady, and the guy was asian. And assistant manager named bill or phill, i couldn’t remember his name. Thanks to him at least we could finish our dinner.

Iron Age Korean Steakhouse is the first Korean BBQ restaurant I have been to in a while, and the first one my wife has been to. The food was awesome. We went during lunchtime so the menu is missing a few of the meats that are available at dinner time like Shrimp, the regular Steak, and the squid, but there were plenty of other options and we did not miss them. The favorite of the table was the Beef Bulgogi, but the Hawaiian Bulgogi was a close second. We were a little disappointed by the spicy selections, the flavor was great just the spice was not there. Overall, the staff was super prompt, they were ready to bring us more meat as soon as the last one on the table was on the grill. They do allow only 2 meats at a time and only one on the grill, which was not an issue as the grill will only hold so much. Overall we had a great experience, we were there for lunch around 12:30 on a Friday and they sat us as soon as the table was prepared. My only minor dislike was that they were a little to insistent on cooking and cutting up the meat on the grill. To me, cooking the meat at the table while enjoying time my with family and friends has always been part of the experience. To their credit, a few of the staff did seem to take note of the fact that I was doing the grilling and they did back off a little.

Arrived at 9. There was an hour wait even though we booked in advance. At least 50% of your party must be there when you are able to sit. Service was great, attentive, knowledgeable, fast. This is a cook your own meat type of place! Which was very cool learning the different meats available! One of my guest was knowledgeable about this style of dinning so she asked for our veggies , rice cakes , rice etc, it comes with the meal but only if you request it! Veggie mix-mushrooms,red pepper, onions, green peppers Rice(just white, steamed) Rice cake with some kind of sauce, Kimchi, a side salad and an array of different sauces to try. A soup of your choice All of the food is DELICIOUS! All the drinks were good we tried, table favorite was the strawberry Hennessy margarita! Meats we tried. Steak, shrimp(shelled) , lemon garlic chicken, spicy chicken, Bulgogi (shredded steak). Once you get the hang of how to cook it , it’s fun, a conversation starter. I would recommend this place for the tictoc lovers like my daughter! Couples, families who like to try different things .There’s K-pop music and videos in the background. It’s very dim inside the restaurant so it sets a romantic mood. Or just for an outing to eat and relax. If i could give it 10 stars i would!

We had so much fun here. I've never been to anywhere quite like it. There's many meats to choose from and you get two selections at a time. Put one on your individual grill and cook until you decide it's done. The meats were wonderfully seasoned, we had 4 small trays of different sauces for dipping, and there are 5 sides to choose from as well. The salad dresssing is the best I've ever had and I wish I could buy a bottle of it. The servers are quite attentive and will assist you in cutting your meats if you wish. No knives are given, just chop sticks, shears for cutting, a spoon for rice, and tongs to cook with (forks available upon request). The only thing I wasn't happy with is that our server (I'm sure just doing as he was told) would come around and grab our tongs and turn our meat without even asking. I had to keep putting it back like I had it. I was trying to get some char on the meat, or I knew a piece of chicken wasn't done yet in a particular spot, and he kept moving everything around. As you can see from my pic, I ended up just holding the tongs so he'd stop touching our food. Please ASK if people would like your help before doing that. Other than that, we haf a wonderful experience and will definitely be back again.
